What changed for Hunter in WoW Forever?
The
Hunter is 1 of the 9 classes Blizzard reworked for Forever. Blizzard has not published the Hunter kit yet, and the Paladin remains the only class with a full kit out.
What already applies to a
Hunter comes from the combat rules for everyone. Spell, melee and ranged hit merge into 1 stat, and so do the 3 kinds of crit. Weapon skill still counts, with less of it on each item.
Some Classic
quest rewards changed in the
Hunter's favour. Nesingwary's rewritten reward line now includes the Master Hunter's Spellsword.
Every confirmed class line in Forever is collected on class changes. Until a
Hunter kit appears, the tier list gives the role context.
Your Hunter at 60 before the opening raid lockouts
A fast class still has a long route. A booster plays it on your Hunter, and the order refunds in full before the 1st session.

WoW Forever Power Leveling & Gearing
Human Hunter is new; Undead Hunter is absent from the matrix
Human
Hunter is 1 of the 6 new race and class combos Blizzard named for Forever, with more planned later.
The other 5 named combos are
Gnome
Priest,
Dwarf
Shaman,
Orc
Mage,
Troll
Warlock and
Undead
Paladin.
Human racials that hit a
Hunter: Will to Survive (remove stuns), Perception (detect stealth for 20s), Sword Spec (+2% crit with swords) and The Human Spirit (+5% Spirit).
Perception is the line that maps to PvP and world stealth checks. Will to Survive clears stuns in the same toolbox.
Undead
Hunter is not on Blizzard's published race and class matrix.
Horde Undead can be
Mage,
Paladin,
Priest,
Rogue,
Warlock or
Warrior. Hunter is absent for Undead on that table.
If you want a
Forsaken story at 60, Undead
Paladin is the published Undead combo. That path is on Undead Paladin.
Hunter pets and taming in WoW Forever
A Forever pet list, tameable families, pet
talent trees and stable size are still missing from Blizzard's posts.
Blizzard has not posted a
Hunter class article that names pet changes. The class still sits in the Classic 9-class set with a pet companion as the Classic identity.
Until Blizzard publishes pet rules, treat taming, loyalty and family bonuses as Classic reference only. Label any Classic-only line as Classic when you plan a beta or launch build.
Dwarf Big Game Hunter adds +5% damage vs Beasts.
Troll Beast Slaying adds +5% vs Beasts. Those racials are published and they hit Beast targets, including enemy pets in PvP.
Best race for Hunter in WoW Forever
Blizzard's matrix puts
Hunter on 8 races.
Alliance:
Dwarf,
Human,
Night Elf, High Order Skyborne.
Horde:
Orc,
Tauren,
Troll, Windshaper Skyborne.
Gnome and
Undead cannot be
Hunter on the published tables.
| Race | Faction | Racials that hit Hunter play |

| Elune's Light (+10% crit, 15s); Shadowmeld; Quickness (+1% Dodge, +2% run) | ||

Both Skyborne factions can be
Hunter. A Skyborne Hunter starts on
Zephras Isle from levels 1 to 12. The cheapest way to unlock the race is the Skyborne Heroic Pack, $29.99 on the US Battle.net shop. The Epic Pack ($59.99) and the Warcraft Forever Collection ($79.99) include it too.
Full racial text is on racials. Skyborne rules are on Skyborne.
Hunter talents at 20 and at 60
The
Hunter keeps 3
talent trees, and in Classic those were Beast Mastery, Marksmanship and Survival. Blizzard has not listed the Forever Hunter talents yet.
Milestone talents worth 1 point stay at 11, 21 and 31, plus a new 4th milestone at 16. Some talents keep their patch 1.12 form, some were adjusted, and new ones fill the room that class buffs left.
Blessing of Kings, Divine Spirit and Improved Mark of the Wild are now baseline, so the
Paladin,
Priest and
Druid in a
Hunter's group spend those talent points elsewhere. With hit merged into 1 stat, the same hit gear makes both shots and traps more reliable.
Blizzard has not confirmed a Classic total of 51 points for Forever. Pick 1 tree for launch week.
Beta progress from 17 September to 21 October 2026 stays out of the live game, so use the beta to try the trees. Final
level 60
Hunter builds wait for Blizzard's class posts. Milestones for every class are explained on the talent calculator page.
Leveling a Hunter from 1 to 60
Every
Hunter starts at level 1 on launch day, and the level cap is 60. A
Human Hunter begins in the
Alliance human lands.
Dwarf and
Night Elf Hunters keep their Classic starts, now with Forever
quest hooks.
Horde Hunters start in the
Orc,
Tauren or
Troll lands, and Skyborne Hunters spend levels 1 to 12 on
Zephras Isle.
Leveling a
Hunter uses the Classic XP curve. Inside a
dungeon, mobs now give less XP, while the dungeon's quests pay more on your 1st run. So the Hunter route is 1 run per dungeon for its quests, then back to the open world.
More than 1,000 new quests fill the levels from 1 to 60, with 150+ in the
Riverglades for the mid 30s to the mid 40s.
Mount Hyjal is the zone Blizzard named for the end of the climb. Food can add a small XP bonus on top of its stats. Forever has no flying.
Blizzard gives each of the 9 new dungeons a level range, from
Hall of Thanes at 13 to 18 up to Shaper's Terrace at 58 to 60. Legacy Challenges also sort dungeons into 3 buckets: 15 to 25, 26 to 45 and 46 to 60. The
raids follow 5 weeks after launch, on 9 December.
Legacy Points help on the way: a
Hunter can spend up to 16 at launch, out of up to 65 to earn. Well Rested, 1 of those picks, raises rested XP gain and the rested cap.
Upgrade-pack owners reserve names from 27 October to 3 November 2026, for up to 3 characters. Names go in order of arrival, with no guarantee.
Hardcore opens some time after launch.
The full route is in the leveling guide, and every instance on the way is in the dungeon guide. To skip the grind, Hunter power leveling has a booster level your character for you.
In Classic the
Hunter was the fastest class to level, because the pet held the mob while the Hunter shot. The working figure for a quest-led 1 to 60 is about 150 hours of play, and a Hunter sits at the quick end of it.

The 1st column is drawn for 150 hours, so a
Hunter on its own can beat it by a few evenings.
Hunter at 60 before the 9 December raids
A
Hunter needs
level 60 for a place in the 1st
raids, which open on 9 December 2026. They include
Barrow Deeps, a 10-player challenge at the level cap, and
Hyjal Summit, a 20-player raid.
A
Hunter still climbing through the mid 50s that week misses the opening lockouts.
The LFCarry leveling pre-order costs $299 for 1 booster or $420 for 2 boosters in shifts, and $399 or $599 once the pre-order window closes.
In chat, name your
Hunter's race,
