Updated 2026-09-29 · 8 min read · by LFCarry PRO team

WoW Forever Tauren racials are War Stomp, Cultivation, Plainsrunning and Endurance. War Stomp stuns nearby enemies for 2 seconds, and Cultivation grows bonus herbs you can gather without Herbalism. Plainsrunning builds move speed while you keep moving, and Endurance adds 5% health and 1% hit. Tauren play Druid, Hunter, Shaman and Warrior. This page matches the kit to each of those classes.

War Stomp, Cultivation, Plainsrunning and Endurance are the 4 Tauren racials on Blizzard's Create the Hero post. Like every race, the Tauren gets 2 active and 2 passive traits.

War StompActiveStuns nearby enemies for 2s
CultivationActiveGrow bonus herbs that do not require herbalism to gather
PlainsrunningPassiveGain increased movement speed the longer you stay moving
EndurancePassiveTotal Health increased by 5% and Hit Chance increased by 1%

That table is the whole Tauren kit for Forever. The reworked racials page puts it next to the other races.

Cultivation: Grow bonus herbs that don't require herbalism to gather.

The Tauren is a Horde race. Blizzard's Deep Dive repeats the rule of 2 actives and 2 passives for all races. The Create the Hero post lists the Orc, Troll, Undead and Windshaper Skyborne kits separately.

A WoW subscription or Game Time is all Forever needs at launch. Skyborne packs cost $29.99 for the Heroic Pack, $59.99 for the Epic Pack and $79.99 for the Warcraft Forever Collection on the US Battle.net shop.

Tauren Cultivation: herbs without Herbalism

Cultivation is the search spike inside Tauren racial queries. Blizzard's wording is clear. You grow bonus herbs that do not require herbalism to gather.

That does not publish a full herb table. Blizzard has not published node lists, spawn rates or gold values for the herbs. The rule itself is official: bonus herbs, no herbalism requirement.

Legacy Challenges still talk about mining, herbing and skinning yields. Cultivation sits next to that gathering fantasy for Tauren characters.

If you plan gold from herbs, pair Cultivation with the published camping and profession notes on professions. Do not invent node maps Blizzard has not posted.

Search strings that mention Tauren herb racial map to Cultivation. There is no separate herb racial beyond that published name. Do not invent Classic herb percentages Blizzard did not restate.

Cooking, fishing and camping objects appear in Deep Dive profession notes. Cultivation is the Tauren-specific gather hook on top of that system.

War Stomp, Plainsrunning and Endurance

War Stomp stuns nearby enemies for 2s. It is the AoE control button for Warrior pulls, Druid forms and open-world PvP. Blizzard gives no radius beyond "nearby".

Plainsrunning stacks move speed while you keep moving. It helps leveling routes and open-world travel. The stacking move-speed rule is official.

Endurance raises total Health by 5% and Hit Chance by 1%. That Hit line matters for melee and for hunters landing shots. The Health line helps every Tauren role that takes damage.

Together the kit is control, gathering, travel and raw stats. Compare Horde neighbors on racials when you weigh Orc or Troll instead.

War Stomp does not replace interrupts. It is a short nearby stun. Use it when the pack needs freeze time, then resume the rotation.

Plainsrunning rewards continuous movement. Stop-and-go questing gains less from it than a smooth route between hubs. Plan routes that keep you moving when you can.

Which classes can Tauren play?

Blizzard's Horde matrix lists 4 Tauren classes: Druid, Hunter, Shaman and Warrior.

PriestNoNo column
PaladinNoHorde Paladin is Undead
MageNoNo column
WarlockNoNo column
RogueNoNo column

Tauren Priest and Tauren Paladin are absent from the published tables. Horde Paladin sits on Undead. See Undead Paladin and the full matrix.

Skyborne Windshaper shares Druid, Hunter, Rogue, Shaman and Warrior on Horde. That is a different race with Walk on Air. Tauren keeps War Stomp and Cultivation.

Night Elf shares Druid on Alliance. Tauren is the Horde Druid race on the Classic 8. Windshaper Skyborne also lists Druid on Horde. Pick Tauren when you want War Stomp and Cultivation with the Druid forms.

Dwarf Shaman is the new Alliance Shaman combo. Tauren Shaman remains the classic Horde option with the Tauren kit attached. See Dwarf Shaman if you are weighing factions.

Best Tauren class at 60

Blizzard has not ranked Tauren classes. Match the kit to the role.

Warrior and tanky Druid forms gain Endurance's 5% Health and War Stomp's 2s stun. Hunter gains the 1% Hit on Endurance for shot tables. Shaman gains Health and Hit for melee enhance or for surviving healer kicks.

Cultivation is class-agnostic. Every Tauren gathers the bonus herbs. Plainsrunning helps every leveling route the same way.

The Paladin kit, the 1st class Blizzard wrote up in full, is not open to Tauren. Blizzard has not published matching Warrior, Hunter, Druid or Shaman class articles for Forever. Use classes, Shaman and class changes for what is confirmed.

For gold during the 5-week leveling window, Cultivation favors any Tauren who passes herb nodes. That argument is economic.

Talent milestones at 11, 16, 21 and 31 are published. Plan a single tree until Blizzard posts more.

The 31-point milestone and the rest arrive on the climb to 60, about 150 hours of play for a Tauren on the quest route.

On all 3 calendars, Plainsrunning pays off on the long runs between quest hubs.

Tauren racials for PvE and PvP

In PvE, War Stomp stops trash packs and buys cast time. Endurance's Health and Hit help early raid progression after 9 December. Cultivation feeds profession camps and AH herb stock during the leveling window.

In PvP, War Stomp is the opening stun. Plainsrunning helps chase or disengage while you keep moving. Endurance's Health pool buys a swing or a cast under pressure.

Each of the 3 dungeon Legacy Challenges asks for the final boss of every dungeon in 1 range: 15 to 25, 26 to 45 or 46 to 60. Blizzard also lists a level range for each of the 9 new dungeons, starting with Hall of Thanes at 13 to 18.

For broader PvP context, read Forever PvP. Hardcore is not a launch ruleset. It arrives later on Blizzard's roadmap.

Orc Hardiness cuts stun duration by 20%. Tauren answers with War Stomp instead. Those are different tools. Pick the stun break or the stun cast based on the fights you expect.

Undead players break Charm, Fear and Sleep with Will of the Forsaken. Tauren has no equivalent remove. Bring potions or class tools for fear if you roll Tauren into fear-heavy PvP.

Why your Tauren needs 60 before 9 December

Level 60 before the raids leaves a Tauren 5 weeks. The game opens on 4 November 2026 at 3:00 PM PST, and the 1st raid lockouts start on 9 December 2026.

27 Oct to 3 NovEarly name reservation

On the way, Plainsrunning speeds the runs between quest hubs, and Cultivation turns the same route into herb income. The kit stays with you through every quest, all 9 new dungeons and each profession camp.

Anyone who bought an upgrade can reserve names from 27 October to 3 November 2026 PST. Claim the Tauren name then if its spelling matters. Blizzard gives names to whoever claims them earliest and guarantees no name. Details: name reservation.

A booked climb costs $299 on the leveling pre-order with 1 booster or $420 with 2, and $399 or $599 at regular rates. The refund is full until the 1st session. The order page is WoW Forever leveling, and the route is in the leveling notes.

The beta runs from 17 September through 21 October 2026 PST for owners of the Epic Pack and the Forever Collection. The Heroic Pack has no beta access. Every live Tauren still starts on 4 November.
