The Dwarf Shaman is 1 of 6 new race and class combos in World of Warcraft: Forever, free with a subscription from 4 November 2026. It is the 1st Alliance Shaman that needs no special race. Blizzard posted the full Shaman kit on 7 October, and the 15 October patch notes replaced Mace Specialization with Earth Fury, +2% critical damage and healing, and put Lava Burst within reach at the level 30 beta cap. This guide covers the racials, the Skyborne alternative, what Blizzard confirmed for the class and the plan to be 60 before the raids open on 9 December.

A free Alliance Shaman on 4 November

  • October 15, 2026 patch notes. Mace Specialization is replaced by Earth Fury, +2% critical damage and healing. Lava Burst moves to the 21-point gold talent, so Elemental can take it at the level 30 beta cap. Every Shaman change is in our October 15 patch notes.

Blizzard added 6 race and class combos to Forever: Gnome Priest, Human Hunter and Dwarf Shaman on the Alliance, Orc Mage, Troll Warlock and Undead Paladin on the Horde. All 6 come with a normal subscription. The Skyborne race is the only paid unlock, and its Shaman is Horde only, so the Dwarf is the Alliance Shaman for everyone else.

Blizzard has named the combo and shown the character. It has not published a Dwarf Shaman story, a starting quest line or a clan for it yet. A Dwarf Shaman starts in Dun Morogh on the ordinary Alliance path.

Dwarf racials for a Shaman

Every race in Forever has 2 active and 2 passive racials. Blizzard walked the Dwarf set on stage because of this combo. The 15 October notes then replaced Mace Specialization with Earth Fury, so a Shaman no longer needs a mace for the racial.

Earth Fury replaces Mace Specialization: +2% critical damage and healing, with any weapon. Every crit from a Lightning Bolt, a Stormstrike or a heal lands harder, so it suits all 3 Shaman specs. Stoneform is on a 3 min cooldown. The old armor bonus is gone, so the physical-damage version works for a cloth wearer the same as for a mail wearer.

The 15 October notes also announce extra items from most chests with Find Treasure.

Dwarf or Skyborne for a Shaman

The Skyborne are the other new Shaman race, and the choice is a faction choice. A Skyborne picks Horde or Alliance at creation. Horde Skyborne work with the Earthen Ring and can be Druids, Hunters, Rogues, Shamans or Warriors. Alliance Skyborne follow the arcane legacy of their ancestors with the Kirin Tor and can be Druids, Hunters, Mages, Rogues or Warriors. There is no Alliance Skyborne Shaman.

On the racials alone, the 15 October notes give the Dwarf Earth Fury, +2% critical damage and healing, and the Skyborne Wind Blessed, 3% haste (was 1%). Earth Fury makes every crit land harder, and Wind Blessed speeds every cast and swing. Both suit all 3 Shaman specs, so the choice stays a faction choice.

If you want an Alliance Shaman without a pack, the Dwarf is the path. If you want a Shen'dorei start on Zephras Isle, that is a Blizzard pack and a Horde character. The race guide is on Skyborne.

What Blizzard confirmed for the Shaman

Blizzard reworked every class, and the Shaman deep dive went live on 7 October. The theme is totems that keep up with combat. Every totem now has a global cooldown of 1 sec, buff totems last 5 minutes instead of 2, a tracker shows which totems are up, and Call of the Elements drops a set of 4 in 1 cast from level 20, with 2 more sets at 30 and 40. Totemic Projection at level 22 moves them up to 30 yards. Weapon imbues last 60 minutes and stack with Sharpening Stones and Wizard Oil.

For a Dwarf, 1 baseline change matters most: 2-Handed Axes and Maces is now baseline, so an Enhancement Dwarf can carry a 2-handed axe or mace, and since the 15 October notes Earth Fury adds +2% critical damage and healing whatever the weapon. 3 earlier changes apply to every Shaman.

  • 1 hit stat now serves melee swings, shocks and every other spell, and crit is combined the same way. Blizzard names Enhancement Shaman as a winner of that change.
  • Spirit returns mana in combat for every class that heals or deals damage with mana, and Blizzard singled out Restoration Shaman. Bonus healing now also adds 1/3 of your bonus spell damage, so a Restoration Shaman can quest in healing gear.
  • Talent trees have the same number of rows as in Classic, with gold talents at 11, 16, 21 and 31 points. The 7 October post names the gold talents: Shamanistic Focus (11), Stormstrike (16, now on a cooldown of 8 seconds), Spirit Weapons (21) and Rage of the Farseer (31) for Enhancement, and Water Shield (11), Mana Tide Totem (16) and Riptide (31) for Restoration. The 15 October notes rebuilt the Elemental side. Lava Burst moves from the 7th to the 5th row as the 21-point gold talent, gains a 4th rank and needs no prerequisite, so Elemental can take it at the level 30 beta cap. Elemental Mastery returns as the 31-point gold talent: Lightning Bolt and Lava Burst cast 0.5 seconds faster and Chain Lightning has no cooldown for 15 seconds, on a 3 minute cooldown. Call of Thunder is removed. Stormstrike now costs 8% of base mana (was 125 mana at every level), and its debuff is no longer used up when your spell does not land. Dual Specialization opens at level 40.

The 15 October notes also make Grace of Air, Strength of Earth, Windfury and Flametongue totems reach the whole raid. Grace of Air no longer excludes Windfury or Flametongue Totem; those 2 still exclude each other.

Group buffs such as Blessing of Kings, Divine Spirit and Improved Mark of the Wild are now baseline, which frees talent points for Paladins, Priests and Druids. All 5 Shaman races and the 3 specs are in the Shaman guide. The changes every class shares are listed in class changes.

Shaman megas for every spec and mode

The class hub at WoW Forever Shaman now links 6 megas. Dwarf stays the Alliance-only race deep-dive. Open the mega that matches your tree and mode:

The Alliance route to 60

A Dwarf Shaman starts in Dun Morogh, and Earth Fury adds +2% critical damage and healing from level 1, whatever you equip. On the Classic reference the Shaman levels at an average pace, so the quest-led climb takes about 150 hours of play.

From Dun Morogh to level 40, the route passes 4 new dungeons. The Hall of Thanes comes 1st, then the Wetlands Excavation Site, listed at 26 to 31 on the beta since 1 October (the BlizzCon bracket said 24 to 29), the City of Dalaran at 28 to 33 and the Drowned City at 35 to 40. Clear each dungeon once for its 1st-run quest XP, then return to the outdoor route. The 1 October beta build halved that bonus quest XP, so the outdoor quests carry more of the climb.

From the mid 30s, the Riverglades offer more than 150 new quests and Krol'dok Stronghold, a dungeon for 40 to 45. Alcaz Prison follows at 48 to 53, and Mount Hyjal and Blackmaw Hold take you from 55 to 60.

Those 150 hours stand between a fresh Dwarf in Dun Morogh and a Shaman at 60. With a 1 to 60 boost, a booster plays them for you in about 2 weeks, well before the raids open on 9 December.

All 3 calendars run the same Alliance route, from Dun Morogh to Hyjal.

60 by 9 December

Reach 60 with your Dwarf Shaman before 9 December 2026, the day Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and Onyxia's Lair open for 10, 20 and 40 players. Every boss drops a chase item and new tier sets exist for every class. A Dwarf Shaman takes Earth Fury's +2% critical damage and healing into all 3 of them.

A booster on your character reaches 60 with weeks left for dungeon blues and gold. A Dwarf Shaman has no WoW Token or paid boost to lean on, and Forever's group finder is a listing tool with no automatic Dungeon Finder, so a booster on your character is the fastest skip. The raid tier is on raids.

Dwarf Shaman in the leveling builder

The Dwarf Shaman in the leveling builder runs the same 1 to 60 route with the class and race set in advance, the Hall of Thanes and every dungeon clear included. A human Pro plays your Dwarf in our own gaming hubs, on a PC dedicated to your account and a unique residential IP in your city, so the climb looks exactly like you playing from home. We re-check the Dwarf Shaman hours on the beta, and a placed pre-order keeps its price.

Coaching is $29 an hour for the spec question. A Pro sets up your Shaman around the 4 gold talents and the merged hit stat, and walks you through the 7 October Shaman kit. The Horde counterpart is the Undead Paladin.
