Undead Paladin Undead Paladin is a free Horde Horde launch combo in World of Warcraft: Forever. A normal WoW subscription plays it. Packs are optional upgrades, confirmed by Blizzard News and the Battle.net shop.

Blizzard's Deep Dive article ships six race/class combinations at launch, with more planned. No new base class was announced.

Lore in Blizzard's Found Photos article: the story comes from Warcraft III: Reforged — Forsaken Kingdom. Named places are Bandarion Keep, the Whispering Wood, and Tirisfal. Official copy frames Forsaken as still learning the Light and still mistrusted. Forever sits after that campaign and before Molten Core, in a Year-1 time bubble.

The official launch cinematic is titled New Horizons. Blizzard hasn’t published a cinematic shot list. Existing Alliance Paladins (Human, Dwarf) are not listed as removed. Skyborne Skyborne is not listed as Paladin. The other five free combos and the paid race sit on Forever classes and Skyborne. Dates: release date. Hub: /wow-forever. Weekend recap: BlizzCon 2026.

Launch is 4 November 2026 at 15:00 PST globally. Forever is included in a subscription. Beta is Epic / Collection only and ends 21 October 2026 PST — not a Forsaken Paladin gate, and not on the Heroic pack. See beta.

Forsaken racials: what Deep Dive printed

Game-wide rule, from Blizzard's Deep Dive article: every race gets two active and two passive racials, with a similar offensive budget, without pushing every race toward the same strengths. That is a rewrite. Do not copy Classic racial numbers onto Forever.

Official Undead examples in that article:

RacialWhat Blizzard printed
Undead Paladin Will of the ForsakenStill clears Charm, Fear, and Sleep. No longer grants immunity.
CannibalizeRestores Mana and Health.
Touch of the GraveA chance to drain life.
Underwater BreathingListed as unchanged.

Those four names sit next to the 2+2 rule. A complete fourth-slot write-up — durations, percentages, whether Underwater Breathing is the second passive in the new budget, and any unused slot — is not published. We’ll add those numbers as soon as Blizzard publishes them. The same Deep Dive promised more class and race details in later videos and articles. Game-wide racials: Forever racials.

Wowhead's racials write-up covers other races. They are not Forsaken facts. Do not treat the Deep Dive examples as a full racial table.

Forums already pair Will of the Forsaken with Paladin bubbles. Official text removed the immunity. That pairing is not advertised as an exploit. Faction-balance systems similar to Season of Discovery apply to the PvP ruleset only. See realmless / rulesets.

Paladin kit (Deep Dive)

Talents This is the only published class dump in WoW Forever. Source: Blizzard's Deep Dive article. Wowhead's BlizzCon coverage disagrees on one Paladin line; the official article is the one used here.

Correction. Wowhead's BlizzCon coverage wrote Hammer of Wrath for Instrument of the Law. Blizzard's Deep Dive article says Holy Wrath becomes instant. Holy Wrath is the line used here.

Baseline combat. Holy Strike at level 6: instant Holy weapon strike, 12-second cooldown. Seals are not consumed by Judgment. Consecration is baseline at 20, with high damage and threat on the first four targets. Seal of Fury (Protection) favors fast weapons and small absorbs; Judgment while that seal is active taunts. Official note: this is not a one-button taunt. Paladin still has no interrupt and no generic slow. Strong versus Undead and Demons. Per BlizzCon coverage: the Seal of Fury Judgment taunt is 10 yards versus 5 yards for other taunts. Treat that yard figure as coverage, not a quoted Blizzard sentence.

TreeNamed talents
Paladin HolyImproved Holy Strike; Voice of Truth (silence and interrupt immunity); Reverence (Spirit while casting); Infusion of Light; Holy Shock on a 10-second cooldown; Consecrated Ground; Light’s Vigil (party heal or extra damage).
Paladin ProtectionImproved Seal of Fury (Mana on absorb); Shield Specialization Mana on block; Swift Judgment (reset Judgment once per minute); Templar’s Bulwark; redesigned Reckoning; Iron Creed.
Paladin RetributionVindication (attack power down on the enemy / up on self); Sacred Arbiter; Champion of the Light; Instrument of the Law — official text: Holy Wrath becomes instant and deals less threat; Twist of Light (seal-twist without a swing add-on); Shockadin path kept.

Talents, all classes: 1.12 row count; milestones at 11 / 16 (new) / 21 / 31. Blessing of Kings, Divine Spirit, and Improved Mark of the Wild are baseline. BlizzCon coverage: Improved Battle Shout also baseline — that is a Warrior line, not a Paladin tax. Hybrid itemization help is named for Retribution (and Enhancement Shaman). Dual spec is not published. Full numeric talent ranks beyond the names above are not published.

Level-60 charger: Retribution vs Redemption

Forsaken charger Blizzard's Found Photos article: Forsaken Paladins receive a level-60 epic mount quest in the name of Retribution. The Alliance charger quest is named Redemption. Official written articles do not publish a mount item name, a gold sticker, or a model SKU.

BlizzCon show footage and same-day community photos showed a skeletal horse in skull-and-gold barding and a skull-helmed ram variant. Same-day stage footage and community photos match those models (Quissy). That is a visual, not an official model table. Reddit asked for first looks the same day (r/classicwow).

Riding is a separate system. Blizzard's Deep Dive and What’s Next articles: Forever uses a Burning Crusade-style model — up-front mount gold moves into training; a mount is granted when you learn riding. There is no flying and no level scaling. Pack mounts still require riding skill bought in-game. Gold cost at 40 and at 60, and whether those remain the unlock levels: not published. Do not expect the charger at level 1, and do not print a Classic sticker as Forever fact. Mount table: Forever mounts.

Best spec: reasoning, not a parse list

There is no Forever parse board on this page. No ranks, no S/A/B letters, no guessed DPS. What follows is reasoning from the published kit. It can be wrong in beta (17 September–21 October 2026 PST official; cap 30 is on the on-stage roadmap only) and at launch.

ProtectionProtectionPublished taunt path
RetributionRetributionNamed tools + charger quest
HolyHolyNamed heal tools

Protection. Classic Paladin tanks lacked a real taunt path. Forever Protection has Seal of Fury plus a Judgment taunt, baseline Consecration at 20 with threat on the first four targets, and named threat/Mana talents. Official text still says this is not a one-button taunt and still has no interrupt and no generic slow. That is enough to call Protection viable as a published tank path. It is not a claim that Protection will be the first-pick dungeon tank on 4 November. Dungeon party sizes are unpublished. Nine new dungeon names: dungeons.

Retribution. Named tools: Vindication, Instrument of the Law (instant Holy Wrath, less threat), Twist of Light, Shockadin kept, plus hybrid itemization help. Holy Strike from 6 and unconsumed seals change how Ret swings compared with Classic. That is a documentation advantage, not a meter. The level-60 charger quest is named Retribution; that is a quest title, not a spec mandate.

Holy. Named tools: Holy Shock on 10 seconds, Light’s Vigil (heal or damage), Voice of Truth, Reverence, Consecrated Ground, Infusion of Light. Kings and Divine Spirit are baseline, so those buffs are no longer a talent reason to roll Holy. Healing numbers, mana costs, and raid assignments are unpublished. First raids unlock 9 December 2026: Barrow Deeps Barrow Deeps 10 and Hyjal Summit Hyjal Summit 20 in Blizzard's What’s Next article. Onyxia 40 is on the on-stage roadmap only, omitted from that written article. Raid page: raids.

If you want the class Blizzard actually wrote down, Paladin is that class. If you want Alliance Paladin instead, Human and Dwarf still exist; they share this kit and take Redemption at 60, not Retribution. Coaching on the published buttons: $29/hour.

What players argued (not a poll)

The weekend split: mount and identity hype on one side, a loud lore minority on the other, and a PvP-balance worry in the same forum. Quotes are attributed. They are not a survey. Skyborne day-one share is unpublished.

On the official launch thread, PourDecision wrote: “Undead paladins are all I wanted. Woot!”. The dedicated lore thread is titled “Undead Paladin Is Stupid.” Roknuk argued Forsaken were deserted by the Holy Light and that embracing it is “just stupid.” Category scrape listed hundreds of replies. This page will not lecture that Forsaken should not be paladins. Official story is the Forsaken Kingdom campaign and the Found Photos places above.

In that same thread, Pwnytail called it the most OP PvP race/class combo on health drain, bubbles, and a fear/charm break. That is a player fear. Official Will of the Forsaken no longer grants immunity. Do not read this paragraph as a product pitch. We will not sell “the OP combo.”

After the Skyborne Heroic pack landed at $29.99, Wowhead commenters named Forsaken Paladin as the free substitute. Heroic does not include beta. Versus Classic: Forever vs Classic.

Leveling notes for this combo

Full zone and dungeon table: Forever leveling. Facts that matter on a Forsaken Paladin:

  • Start: ordinary Horde 1–12. Zephras Isle Zephras Isle 1–12 is Skyborne-only and pack-gated. A subscription-only Forsaken does not start there.
  • Holy Strike at 6 is the first published Paladin combat beat. Consecration is baseline at 20.
  • Riverglades is the mid-30s to mid-40s frontier (about Stranglethorn Vale sized). What’s Next: more than 150 quests. Found Photos: nearly 200 Horde and Alliance. Both official figures stay visible. Connected to Burning Steppes / Redridge / Swamp of Sorrows / Badlands. Port: Powderfuse Port via a Tanaris Steamwheedle ship.
  • Hyjal Summit Mount Hyjal is endgame (level 60 on-stage). Entrance to Barrow Deeps Barrow Deeps and Hyjal Summit. Raids are not a launch-week product.
  • Crafted food: a small experience bonus plus stats (Deep Dive). The size of the bonus is not published. Camping is a Cooking Fire → Basic Campfire system, not a tenth profession.
  • Talents Talent milestones at 11, 16, 21, and 31. Plan spec reads around those levels, not around a Classic 1.12 memory that skipped 16.

XP curve, dual spec, dungeon finder, dungeon party sizes, and Shen’dralas level range are not published. City of Dalaran and Krol’dok press bands conflict; do not treat one bracket as official. Hardcore Hardcore is a post-launch ruleset (2026–2027 window on the roadmap slide, no calendar day). Do not plan this character as a 4 November Hardcore main. Hardcore explainer: Hardcore.

How LFCarry helps

Dedicated pre-order: Undead Paladin 1–60 at $259. It reuses the Forever leveling slider. Live checkout on /wow-forever/leveling: full 1–60 from $259; shorter brackets cost less on the same slider. Delivery from 4 November 2026. Self-play (you stay on the character) or piloted. Class, faction, and ruleset (Normal / PvP / RP) are options on that slider. Hardcore Hardcore is a different offer and is not sold as a launch-week 1–60.

The Retribution charger is a level-60 class quest. If you want a Pro on that quest rather than a full 1–60, ask as a custom order. We will not quote a Blizzard riding gold figure that is unpublished. We will not sell a Skyborne unlock. Alliance Dwarf Shaman Dwarf Shaman is the free counterpart on Dwarf Shaman.
