WoW Forever Retribution Paladin PvP Guide

• October 15, 2026 patch notes. Champion of the Light now adds 10/20/30% of your Intellect as spell damage (was 20/40/60%). Seal of Righteousness no longer gains almost twice the intended benefit from spell damage. Salvation and Mass Salvation replace the Salvation blessings and no longer take a Blessing slot. The 1st big stage for Paladin duels is the Forever Open on 17 and 18 October: a 1v1 tournament on the beta PvP ruleset with level 30 Horde characters, a 100,000-dollar prize pool and 5,555 dollars for the best player of each class. On the Horde every Paladin is Undead.

Level 30 PvP tier list from the beta, October 2026: the Paladin class is S tier, with 62.8% of 877 duels won in the Forever Open qualifiers. Forever launches on 4 November. All 9 classes: level 30 PvP tier list.

Published Ret tools for PvP: Twist of Light, Sacred Arbiter (keeps Judgments refreshed), Instrument of the Law (instant Holy Wrath), Hammer of Justice. Full PvP tier stays provisional (beta, 22 September 2026).

Level 10 to 30. Same provisional Ret L30 floor as PvE (2/0/19). In BGs, keep a damaging seal up; Judgment no longer eats it.

Level 40 to 60. Twist of Light is the PvP seal skill. Champion of the Light now adds 10/20/30% of your Intellect as spell damage (was 20/40/60%), so Intellect gives half the spell damage it did. No interrupt and no slow stay on purpose. Finish Ret, then the Forever 16-point row. Re-check when L60 PvP builds settle. If crits looked low on the beta, Blizzard's 8 October build notes say critical strikes in PvP no longer have reduced efficacy.

Ret PvP gear is a 2H, Strength, then stamina. Rank 10 is week 7 and Rank 13 is week 9. Named slots stay provisional.

How rank gear works (Blizzard, 7 October 2026). Honor buys a blue and an epic PvP set, and every epic upgrade needs an Emboldened Seal with a rank requirement. Rank Points come from battlegrounds and PvP quests with a weekly cap, so the 14 ranks are a weekly climb: a tabard at Rank 1, a mount at Rank 11 and epic weapons at Rank 14. Since the 1 October beta build Honor prices are about 50% higher and the Honor cap is 25,000.

Week 1. Keep the 2H current from quests. Skip healer Spirit loot. Get week-1 gear done.

Weeks 2–3. Dungeon 2H and Strength mail while you queue. Get the dungeon set done.

Rank weeks. Honor 2H and Strength. Skip a Prot shield. Battle for the Darkspear Islands, the new 15v15 battleground for levels 30 to 60 (4 capture points, a central flag, 1st to 2,000 points), feeds honor next to the classic BGs. Get Rank 14 done.

From 9 December. DPS loot from Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and Onyxia into BGs. Raid carry options.

Profession picks for a Forever Ret Paladin in PvP come from the leveling offer: Ultimate is Engineering + Enchanting, then Balanced and Alternative.

Open the Starter Pack on any tier to land on Paladin Retribution with the PvP ruleset preselected.

Ret PvP addons track seals, stun and enemy frames.

A Ret Paladin levels as melee DPS: Holy Strike from 6 and Twist of Light later. About 150 hours to 60 on the quest-led route.
