3 trees, 7 rows, 51 points at level 60
World of Warcraft: Forever launches on 4 November 2026, and its
talent trees are the ones you remember. Blizzard confirmed the structure: every class keeps 3 trees, every tree keeps 7 rows, and the point total at
level 60 is the Classic 51. Many talents are unchanged from 2006. Many others are updated, and new ones are added.
Blizzard has not published an official talent calculator. The 1st place to test a build in the client is the beta, which runs from 17 September to 21 October with a level cap of 20, then 30. Beta progress does not carry to launch.
Blizzard’s stated goal is that all 27 talent trees are worth bringing to a
dungeon or
raid. Each has distinct strengths and weaknesses, and none is so strong that a group stacks it. That is the promise this page measures every tree against.

WoW Forever Power Leveling & Gearing
The new gold talent at 16 points
Classic trees had 3 gold
talents: a 1-point ability at 11, 21 and 31 points spent in the tree. Forever adds a 4th at 16 points, in all 27 trees. Blizzard calls them
gold medal talents. The brief for the whole rework was to move away from small incremental bonuses and toward talents you notice, where a build makes a real tradeoff.
The
Paladin trees show what the new slot holds. In Holy it is Divine Favor, moved up from 21 points so the deeper rows have room for new talents. In Protection it is Swift Judgment, which resets Judgment so a missed taunt gets a 2nd try. Blizzard has named the 16-point talent for those 2 trees so far.
4 buffs are baseline now
Improved Battle Shout, Divine Spirit, Blessing of Kings and Improved Mark of the Wild are gone from the trees. Their bonuses are baseline for the whole class. A
Priest no longer spends Discipline points to bring Divine Spirit. A
Paladin no longer specs for Kings. A
Druid gets the better Mark by default, and a
Warrior gets the improved shout for free.
Blizzard’s reason is room: the freed slots hold the new
talents. It also ends the buff-bot build, the spec a
raid brought for 1 talent. Those 4 buffs now come with the class.
2 more class-wide changes shape every tree. Spell, melee and ranged hit chance now count as 1 stat, and critical strike chance is merged the same way. And every class that heals or deals damage with mana gets talents or abilities that return mana based on Spirit, so Spirit is worth having on gear. Blizzard named Holy
Paladins and Restoration
Shaman as the specs that feel it most.
Paladin: the class with published trees

Paladin is the 1 class whose trees Blizzard has walked through on stage. 3 class-wide changes come before any
talent. Holy Strike, an ability cut before the 2004 launch, returns at level 6: an instant melee strike that deals Holy damage based on your weapon, with a cooldown of 12 seconds. Each of the 3 trees has a way to improve it.
Judgment no longer consumes your seal. Seal of Fury is the new tank seal. It deals damage on every swing regardless of weapon speed and grants a small absorb shield. Judgment of Fury taunts the target from 10 yards, where Taunt and Growl reach 5.
Consecration is baseline at level 20. It deals heavy damage to the 1st 4 targets and light damage to the rest, so a
Paladin holds a pack without pulling the whole room. Paladins still have no interrupt and no slow.
Holy, Protection and Retribution talents
| Tree | Named talents | Gold slots Blizzard placed |
|---|---|---|
| Holy | Improved Holy Strike, Voice of Truth, Reverence, Divine Favor, Infusion of Light, Holy Shock, Consecrated Ground, Light’s Vigil | Voice of Truth at 11, Divine Favor at 16, Holy Shock at 21 |
| Protection | Improved Seal of Fury, Shield Specialization, Swift Judgment, Templar’s Bulwark, Reckoning, Iron Creed | Improved Seal of Fury at 11, Swift Judgment at 16, Templar’s Bulwark at 21 |
| Retribution | Vindication, Sacred Arbiter, Champion of the Light, Instrument of the Law, Twist of Light | Rows to be shown; the names are published |
Holy. Reverence keeps mana regeneration running in combat. Holy Shock drops from 31 to 21 points with a cooldown of 10 seconds, so hybrid and PvP builds reach it. Light’s Vigil is the party heal: mark an ally, and your next Holy Shock on them heals their whole party and resets Holy Shock.
Protection. Improved Seal of Fury and Shield Specialization return mana on absorbs and blocks. Templar’s Bulwark grants an absorb shield equal to 100% of your health and triggers Forbearance. Iron Creed cuts damage taken by 10% for a few seconds after Holy Strike.
Retribution. Vindication now reduces the target’s attack power. Sacred Arbiter keeps your Judgments up for every
Paladin in the group. Instrument of the Law makes Hammer of Wrath instant and reduces threat. Twist of Light swaps seals without a swing-timer addon.
Plan the build before launch
You do not need a calculator for the 3 decisions that matter. 1st, the main tree: the tree whose 31-point capstone you want at 60. 2nd, the leveling tree: the tree whose 11 and 16-point golds help most from level 20 to 40, where the 9 new
dungeons run without level scaling. 3rd, whether those are the same tree, because Blizzard has not announced dual spec and has not published a respec cost.
In Classic the 1st
talent point arrives at level 10 and 1 more comes with each level. The 11-point
gold lands at level 20, the 16-point gold at 25, the 21 at 30 and the capstone at 40. Forever keeps that structure, and the beta at cap 20, then 30, is where you check the 1st 2 golds of your tree in the client.
The build only pays at 60, when all 51 points are on the table and the
raids open on 9 December. 1 to 60 is about 150 hours of play.

Your 11, 16, 21 and 31-point golds arrive along the way, and the full build on the last day of each calendar.
Build help from a Pro
A coaching hour puts a Pro on the trees with you: main tree, leveling tree, the golds in order, and a re-check when the beta shows the numbers. If you would rather skip the hours, the builder links level an
Undead
Paladin or a
Dwarf
Shaman from 1 to 60. They follow the standard route, with 1 clear of every
dungeon on the way. You spend the 51 points once, on the build you planned here.
Dual spec is tracked on its own page: dual spec in WoW Forever. Racials by race: racials guide.
