Updated 2026-09-29 · 8 min read · by LFCarry PRO team

The Dwarf Shaman is 1 of 6 new race and class combos in World of Warcraft: Forever, free with a subscription from 4 November 2026. It is the 1st Alliance Shaman that needs no special race, and Blizzard has published its 4 racials, including 1% crit on every Shaman spell for carrying a mace. This guide covers the racials, the Skyborne alternative, what Blizzard confirmed for the class and the plan to be 60 before the raids open on 9 December.

Blizzard added 6 race and class combos to Forever: Gnome Priest, Human Hunter and Dwarf Shaman on the Alliance, Orc Mage, Troll Warlock and Undead Paladin on the Horde. All 6 come with a normal subscription. The Skyborne race is the only paid unlock, and its Shaman is Horde only, so the Dwarf is the Alliance Shaman for everyone else.

Blizzard has named the combo and shown the character. It has not published a Dwarf Shaman story, a starting quest line or a clan for it yet. A Dwarf Shaman starts in Dun Morogh on the ordinary Alliance path.

Dwarf racials for a Shaman

Every race in Forever has 2 active and 2 passive racials. Blizzard walked the Dwarf set on stage because of this combo. It said Shamans will now care about having a mace equipped.

Mace Specialization used to be a melee weapon-skill bonus. In Forever the crit applies to every spell and every attack while a mace is in hand. Stoneform is on a 3 min cooldown. The old armor bonus is gone, so the physical-damage version works for a cloth wearer the same as for a mail wearer.

Dwarf or Skyborne for a Shaman

The Skyborne are the other new Shaman race, and the choice is a faction choice. A Skyborne picks Horde or Alliance at creation. Horde Skyborne work with the Earthen Ring and can be Shamans. Alliance Skyborne follow the arcane legacy of their ancestors with the Kirin Tor and can be Mages. There is no Alliance Skyborne Shaman.

If you want an Alliance Shaman without a pack, the Dwarf is the path. If you want a Shen'dorei start on Zephras Isle, that is a Blizzard pack and a Horde character. The race guide is on Skyborne.

What Blizzard confirmed for the Shaman

Blizzard reworked every class. The Paladin was the 1st to get a full published kit, and the Shaman follows in a later post. 3 changes already apply to every Shaman.

  • 1 hit stat now serves melee swings, shocks and every other spell, and crit is combined the same way. Blizzard names Enhancement Shaman as a winner of that change.
  • Spirit returns mana in combat for every class that heals or deals damage with mana, and Blizzard singled out Restoration Shaman. Bonus healing now also adds 1/3 of your bonus spell damage, so a Restoration Shaman can quest in healing gear.
  • Talent trees have the same number of rows as in Classic, with gold talents at 11, 16, 21 and 31 points. Blizzard has named no Shaman talents so far.

Group buffs such as Blessing of Kings, Divine Spirit and Improved Mark of the Wild are now baseline, which frees talent points for Paladins, Priests and Druids. All 5 Shaman races and the 3 specs are in the Shaman guide. The changes every class shares are listed in class changes.

Shaman megas for every spec and mode

The class hub at WoW Forever Shaman now links 6 megas. Dwarf stays the Alliance-only race deep-dive. Open the mega that matches your tree and mode:

The Alliance route to 60

A Dwarf Shaman starts in Dun Morogh, and Mace Specialization adds 1% crit from the 1st mace you equip. On the Classic reference the Shaman levels at an average pace, so the quest-led climb takes about 150 hours of play.

From Dun Morogh to level 40, the route passes 4 new dungeons. The Hall of Thanes comes 1st, then the Wetlands Excavation Site at 24 to 29, the City of Dalaran at 28 to 33 and the Drowned City at 35 to 40. Clear each dungeon once for its 1st-run quest XP, then return to the outdoor route.

From the mid 30s, the Riverglades offer more than 150 new quests and Krol'dok Stronghold, a dungeon for 40 to 45. Alcaz Prison follows at 48 to 53, and Mount Hyjal and Blackmaw Hold take you from 55 to 60.

Those 150 hours stand between a fresh Dwarf in Dun Morogh and a Shaman at 60. With a 1 to 60 boost, a booster plays them for you in about 2 weeks, well before the raids open on 9 December.

All 3 calendars run the same Alliance route, from Dun Morogh to Hyjal.

60 by 9 December

Reach 60 with your Dwarf Shaman before 9 December 2026, the day Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and Onyxia's Lair open for 10, 20 and 40 players. Every boss drops a chase item and new tier sets exist for every class. A Dwarf Shaman who holds a mace takes that crit into all 3 of them.

A booster on your character reaches 60 with weeks left for dungeon blues and gold. A Dwarf Shaman has no WoW Token or paid boost to lean on, and Blizzard has not announced a dungeon finder, so a carry is the only skip. The raid tier is on raids.

Dwarf Shaman in the leveling builder

The Dwarf Shaman in the leveling builder runs the same 1 to 60 route with the class and race set in advance, the Hall of Thanes and every dungeon clear included. Every order can be cancelled for a full refund before the 1st session. We re-check the Dwarf Shaman hours on the beta, and a placed pre-order keeps its price.

Coaching is $29 an hour for the spec question. A Pro sets up your Shaman around the 4 gold talents and the merged hit stat, and says plainly which Shaman lines Blizzard has not published yet. The Horde counterpart is the Undead Paladin.
