Herbalism 1 to 300 in WoW Forever: the short answer
You level
Herbalism in 7 stages: 1 to 70, 70 to 115, 115 to 170, 170 to 205, 205 to 230, 230 to 270 and 270 to 300. Each stage is a set of zones where the herbs still give skill points, and the route tables below list them for both factions. The table here gives the skill every herb needs.

- Rank caps: Apprentice to 75, Journeyman to 150, Expert to 225 and Artisan to 300. Train the next rank before you reach the cap.
- Grey herbs: A herb gives fewer points as your skill passes its requirement and stops giving any 100 skill above it. Move to the next stage when your herbs go grey.
- What is new: 3 camp objects, 4 tiers of Herb Seeds, 3 Scarce herbs and 3 endgame herbs.
- Who uses herbs:
Alchemy and
Enchanting use them. Herbs for gold are in our
gold guide.

Start at level 1: trainer, Find Herbs and Wild Harvest
You can start
Herbalism in your starting area. The trainers there teach Apprentice only, and the
quest reward
Wild Harvest teaches it too if you do not already know 2 other professions. It also raises your skill by 2, up to 15.
Find Herbs switched on.
Herbalism needs no tool.- The next rank from a city trainer or a neutral trainer.
Until
Earthroot opens at 15, you gather only
Peacebloom and
Silverleaf, and starting areas have both from skill 1. A
Dwarf can run
Find Treasure beside
Find Herbs, which the racials guide covers.
Gloves, a glove enchant and
Goldthorn Tea add to your skill while you pick. They stack, so the best of each gives +25. The tea is new in Forever.

Herbalism at 300 on your level 60 character
Order Herbalism on its own, or add it to a 1 to 60 order and it levels along the route.
1 to 300WoW Forever Profession Leveling 1–300: Pre-order
Herbalism is the first pick in the profession list: a Pro works the herb route zone by zone on your level 60 character and takes the skill from 1 to 300. Pre-order, it starts on 4 November.
Best value1–60 Leveling: 14 days
1 booster plays 12 hours a day. Add Herbalism and it picks herbs along the 1 to 60 route. Up to 2 professions go on the same order, so Herbalism pairs with Alchemy or Mining.

A Pro farms on your character for 10 hours: gathering, dungeon drops and the auction house of your market. The order chat logs the gold it makes.

Follow the table from top to bottom. Each row is a skill range with the herbs to pick and the zones to pick them in, split by faction.

Stranglekelp grows in the water along the coasts.
Grave Moss spawns around graveyards, and
Wintersbite grows only in the snow of the
Alterac Mountains.
Skyborne characters work the 1 to 70 stage on
Zephras Isle, which has
Peacebloom,
Silverleaf and
Earthroot. They learn the profession from the neutral trainers below.
Herbalism 230 to 300: Sungrass to Black Lotus
The beta caps characters at level 30, so nobody has picked the herbs above 230 at level yet. The 2 stages below use the Classic zones from the beta data.

We pick 230 to 300 on live realms in the week of 4 November and update this table.
New in Forever: Herb Seeds, Scarce herbs and 3 new herbs
Herbs now drop Herb Seeds while you gather, in 4 tiers:
Commonplace Herb Seeds,
Uncommon Herb Seeds,
Unusual Herb Seeds and
Scarce Herb Seeds. You plant them in the
Greenhouse, and the
Seed Hybridizer turns them into a rarer tier.
We check which herb drops each seed tier and each Scarce herb on live realms in launch week and update this page.
3 Scarce herbs drop beside the normal ones:
Frilled Lichen,
Rosecap and
Stranglevine. They go into new
Alchemy and
Enchanting recipes.
Bountiful Harvest, a perk in the Professions tree of the Legacy System, raises the Scarce materials you gather from
Herbalism,
Mining and
Skinning. The same tree has
Working Overtime, which raises the chance of a skill point, and
Dedicated Study, which adds 1 skill to your lowest tradeskill every 23 hours.
Forever also adds 3 endgame herbs:
Marefoil,
Demonsage and
Death Lotus. They go into 10 new recipes, 4 of them flasks and 6 more across
Alchemy,
Blacksmithing,
Enchanting and
Engineering.
Herbs you do not need fill Waylaid Crates. Any 1 bundle in the table fills a crate, and the level is the character level you need. You hand the sealed crate in for
Merchant's Favor.
Alliance players go to the Azeroth Commerce Authority camp in
Redridge Mountains, and
Horde players to the
Durotar Supply and Logistics camp by the Crossroads in The
Barrens.

Incense Candle, Greenhouse and Seed Hybridizer
Herbalism makes 3 camp objects. You place them at a
Campfire, and all of them share the 1-hour camping cooldown. The camping guide has the campsite rules, and the skill levels and materials below come from the beta data.

Shadetooth is a boss of
Excavation Site: Wetlands, a new
dungeon covered in the dungeons guide. On the beta the Candle gives up to 25 Intellect at
level 60. We check where the
Seed Hybridizer Blueprint drops on live realms in launch week.
Herbalism with Alchemy, Mining or Enchanting
Alchemy turns herbs into potions, elixirs and flasks, so your own herbs save the
gold you would pay on the Auction House.
Mining is the common 2nd gathering profession to pair with Herbalism.
Enchanting uses the Scarce herbs in new recipes.
Tauren characters get a herb racial of their own, covered in the Tauren racials guide.
Which profession to level 1st is in the professions guide.
