What is Hall of Thanes in WoW Forever?
Hall of Thanes is 1 of the 9 new
dungeons in World of Warcraft: Forever. It opens with the game on 4 November 2026 at 3:00 PM PST. Blizzard places it beneath
Ironforge, the resting place of the dwarven monarchs.
Someone broke into the crypts. Blizzard points at the Dark Irons. It is an
Alliance story on paper.
Horde groups still run it. They sneak or fight their way in. Exact boss names and a loot table are not published as of 23 September 2026.
Beta players already tested
Hall of Thanes while the level cap sat at 20 and then 30. Launch day opens all 9 new dungeons together. The full set is on the WoW Forever dungeons page.
Hall of Thanes sits on the same launch slate as Ruins of Lordaeron, the Excavation Site, City of Dalaran, Blackmaw Hold, the Drowned City, Krol'dok Stronghold, Alcaz Prison and the Shaper's Terrace. Spring 2027 and summer 2027 each add 2 more dungeons on the roadmap.
Where is Hall of Thanes? Ironforge entrance
Hall of Thanes sits beneath
Ironforge in
Dun Morogh. Blizzard names the city as the entrance. A door coordinate and an interior map are not published as of 23 September 2026.
Alliance players start close.
Ironforge is their hub.
Dwarf and
Gnome characters reach the gate with almost no travel.
Night Elf and
Human players still need the
Dun Morogh path or a summon.
Horde players have a longer approach. They cross into dwarven land without a friendly flight path. Flying
mounts do not exist in Forever. Budget travel time before the queue pop.
Realmless play keeps factions separate. Groups stay inside 1 ruleset. Normal, PvP and Roleplaying cannot mix for the run.
Hardcore arrives after launch. Wall rules: Realmless.
Dwarf players who want the new
shaman line can pair this
dungeon with the Dwarf Shaman page. The class combo is
Alliance-native. The dungeon story matches that fantasy.
What level for Hall of Thanes?
A per-
dungeon level range is not published as of 23 September 2026. Blizzard's Legacy Challenges group dungeon work into 3 bands: levels 15 to 25, 26 to 45 and 46 to 60.
Hall of Thanes is an early new dungeon. It was available in the beta while the cap sat at 20 and then 30. Treat it as early-band content until Blizzard posts an exact range.
| Legacy dungeon band | What Blizzard wrote |
|---|---|
| 15 to 25 | All level 15 to 25 dungeons |
| 26 to 45 | All level 26 to 45 dungeons |
| 46 to 60 | All level 46 to 60 dungeons |
There is no level scaling. Crowd control, threat and focus targets matter on every pull. Polymorph, banish, root and trap keep packs safe. AoE only when the pull is stable.
Bring a tank, a healer and crowd control until a patch note says otherwise.
Hall of Thanes bosses: what Blizzard has shown
Blizzard has not published a
Hall of Thanes boss list as of 23 September 2026. No encounter names, no health figures, no phase timers and no ability cards are in the official posts read for this page.
What is public is the fantasy. The dwarven monarchs rest beneath
Ironforge. Intruders broke the seals. Dark Iron involvement is the published finger-point. Expect dwarven halls, crypt guardians and a break-in plot.
Forever
dungeon design stresses tactical pulls. A tank holds a few targets. A controller sheep, sap, fear or trap the rest. Healers stay busy when a pull goes wide. Open-world solo pacing sits near 10 to 15 seconds per normal mob. Instance pacing is slower than modern retail.
When Blizzard posts boss names, this page will list them. Until then, prepare for a dwarven crypt, nothing more specific.
Hall of Thanes loot rules Blizzard published
A
Hall of Thanes loot table is not published as of 23 September 2026. Item names, drop rates, sockets and set pieces for this
dungeon are missing from Blizzard's posts. Search queries that ask for Hall of Thanes drops still have no official sheet.
Blizzard did publish the dungeon loot rules that apply here. Every unique dungeon boss item is now blue. Hundreds of new drops were added across the dungeon pool. Weak items were improved. Favourite older pieces stay. Quest rewards were expanded across dungeon lines as well.
Dungeon bosses can drop
Blueprint recipes. Those unlock advanced camping objects that grant 1-hour buffs at a campsite. A
level 60 still has a reason to revisit early dungeons for those recipes. How camps work is on the camping page.
Transmog rules favour dungeon groups. An uncommon or rare bind-on-pickup dungeon appearance unlocks for every eligible looter. Epic
raid appearances unlock only for the binder. Armor type still gates what you can wear. High-level appearances stay locked until level 60.
Track turn-ins on the quests page as Blizzard adds them.

1st-clear plan before the 9 December raids
Raids unlock on 9 December 2026. Every
raid seat needs a
level 60.
Hyjal Summit is the 20-player raid.
Barrow Deeps is the 10-player max-level challenge.
Hall of Thanes is early gear and XP on the
Alliance side of the map. It is not a raid substitute.
Clear it once for the
quests and the blue boss pieces. Then return to questing. Forever opens 1000+ new quests on the 1 to 60 path. Pair the clear with Ruins of Lordaeron if your faction route allows both early.
Book your ruleset and faction before launch week. Groups form only inside 1 ruleset.
Alliance and
Horde stay separate. A Pro-run 1st clear is on the dungeon shelf from 4 November.
Need 60 before 9 December? The leveling pre-order is $299 with 1 booster or $420 with 2. Regular prices are $399 and $599. Full path: leveling to 60.
Book a Hall of Thanes run with LFCarry
LFCarry runs the named Forever
dungeons from launch day. You pick
Hall of Thanes, your ruleset and your faction. Self-play or piloted both work. The Pro matches your ruleset wall so the invite succeeds.
Use a 1st clear for the
quest turn-ins and the blue drops. Use a later clear when you want
Blueprint recipes or a spare look.
Alliance
Dwarf groups often stack this run with early
Dun Morogh leveling.
Horde groups book travel help into
Ironforge.

Ask in chat with your level, faction and ruleset. You get the clear order for the early band and the date you should be 60.
If your goal is a
raid seat on 9 December, clear
Hall of Thanes early, then push the mid and high bands. Blackmaw Hold and the Shaper's Terrace are the late launches on the published list. Book those when you are closer to 60.
