WoW Midnight Season 3 Window: Eclipse, then the Season. Launch Was 2 March 2026

Season 3 starts shortly after Eclipse. That is the official window. Blizzard has not named a calendar day.

Eclipse is the final major Midnight update. It takes the campaign into the Worldcore, an 8-boss raid that ends on Xal'atath, and opens hidden Titan vaults on the road there. Thraegar's Stand is the new dungeon that joins the Season 3 Mythic+ pool with The Underrot, Iron Docks, Sanguine Depths, The Stonecore, Uldaman: Legacy of Tyr, Magisters' Terrace and Maisara Caverns. Season 3 also ships a PvP season and new Delves.

The older cadence math is still on this page for the patches that already shipped: 12.0.5 on 21 April, 12.0.7 on 16 June, 12.1 on 11 August. That 8-week rhythm had pointed at late January 2027. The official line now leads: shortly after Eclipse. Watch the Eclipse PTR for the day.

What that means this week: Season 2 opened 18 August (19 August on EU). Season 1 rewards closed at the 11 August maintenance. Parking every goal for Season 3 means sitting out the live gear ladder.

Patch 12.1.5 is on the PTR now. It is the mid-Season 2 update: the story campaign The Promise of Tomorrow, a 1-boss raid (The Unbinding of Kith'ix), Labyrinths, an Aqir Invasion outdoor event, and Ascendant Venomstones. Talebound, a new PvE mode, is slated with the later Echoes of the Worldcore update. None of that is Season 3. Season 3 still travels with Eclipse.

Midnight raised the level cap to 90, rebuilt Quel'Thalas / Silvermoon as a shared hub, and opened 4 zones: Eversong Woods, Zul'Aman, Harandar, and Voidstorm · plus Arator's Journey as a campaign path.

Season 1 closed at that morning’s maintenance · its Ahead of the Curve, Cutting Edge and seasonal Mythic+/PvP rewards can no longer be earned · and Season 2 opened with the 18 August reset, 19 August on EU realms. That window has closed: Season 1 ended at the 11 August maintenance, so AotC ×3, Cutting Edge / Ashes of Belo'ren, Keystone Master/Legend and the rated PvP rewards are no longer obtainable. Season 2 goals are open now and bookable on Midnight services.

Patch 12.1 Curse of Ula’tek went live on 11 August 2026, and the season opened Tuesday 18 August in North America and Wednesday 19 August on EU realms. Both dates were 1st-party · Blizzard’s article is titled “Season 2 Begins August 18” on the NA site and “Begins 19 August” on the EU 1.

• The Coiled Isle · new outdoor zone east of Zul'Aman, plus Altar of Fangs dungeon.
• Full 8-dungeon M+ pool, new tier sets, new PvP season, Lairs, and a gear reset.

The Last Titan is announced as the Worldsoul Saga finale · a reforged Northrend. There is no release date and no year.

• What is confirmed: setting (updated Northrend), saga finale role, and that Blizzard has discussed the world redesign on stage.
• What is not confirmed: year, season window, level cap, systems, or launch edition details.
• Cadence read (estimate only): The War Within (Aug 2024) → Midnight (Mar 2026) was ~18 months. A similar gap puts The Last Titan in late 2027–2028.

Until Blizzard announces a window, treat every calendar claim as speculation. Midnight itself still has Season 2 running right now and a final Season 3 (patch 12.2) ahead of it.

S Yes if you want a fresh tier from day 1 · Season 2 opened 18 August with the Venomous Abyss on Normal, Heroic and Mythic together and a new 8-dungeon Mythic+ rotation. Season 1’s AotC, Cutting Edge and seasonal M+/PvP rewards closed at the 11 August maintenance and cannot be earned now.

A Yes if you skipped launch and just want current endgame · Patch 12.0.7 catch-up (Omnium Folio / systems), Housing, and a mature S1 meta make returning easier than week 1. Level 80→90 or a boost into Midnight zones is the usual path; see leveling carries.

B Wait only if you want the meta to settle · the 1st 2 weeks of a season are the most volatile for spec balance and route knowledge. If your goal is “new raid week 1,” that week is 18 August.

C Not ideal if you only care about The Last Titan · that expansion has no date; you would skip months of Midnight content for an unknown window.
