Where Midnight Season 1 Stands in July 2026
World of Warcraft: Midnight launched on March 2, 2026, and Season 1 Mythic+ went live on March 17 per Blizzard's official season announcement. Four months in, the season is mature: the spec meta has settled, pug rating floors have climbed, and most players chasing seasonal rewards are staring at the same three walls — the +10 portal tier, the 2000-rating Keystone Master cutoff, and the +12 keys where Xal'atath's Guile starts deleting timers.
The clock matters more than it did in April. The 12.1 Curse of Ula'tek lead-in questline begins the week of July 7, and the community projects Season 2 for roughly August — Blizzard has not announced a date, so treat that as a projection with a certain direction. Every season-locked reward — dungeon portals, the Keystone Master mount, seasonal titles and score — freezes at the reset. July is the month to close them out, not the last weekend of the season when every group and every boost calendar is jammed.
The Season 1 Dungeon Pool: Eight Dungeons, One Historic First
Season 1 runs a fixed eight-dungeon rotation — four brand-new Midnight dungeons and four legacy revivals, including the first Wrath of the Lich King dungeon ever adapted to Mythic+.
| Dungeon | Source | Reputation in the pool |
|---|---|---|
| Windrunner Spire | Midnight (new) | The pug-friendly one — vertical layout, clearly telegraphed mechanics |
| Maisara Caverns | Midnight (new) | The dispel check — stacking poisons punish groups without a plan |
| Magisters' Terrace | Midnight (TBC reimagining) | The nostalgia pick — Kael'thas rebuilt with Void-era mechanics |
| Nexus-Point Xenas | Midnight (new) | The hardest new dungeon for pugs — gravity shifts and platform phases |
| Algeth'ar Academy | Dragonflight | Clean AoE checks, teleport phase on the last boss |
| Seat of the Triumvirate | Legion | Short timer, interrupt-heavy — fast when clean |
| Skyreach | Warlords of Draenor | The DPS-check wall where most Keystone Master pushes stall |
| Pit of Saron | Wrath of the Lich King | The historic first — Garfrost, Ick and Krick, and Tyrannus in M+ |
Pit of Saron is the headline: no Wrath dungeon had ever entered a Mythic+ rotation before Season 1. It rewards mobility — the ice-pillar intro taxes slow melee comps — and it is the dungeon most likely to survive into future rotations if engagement holds.
Keystone Levels, Loot & the Great Vault
Loot scales on two tracks: what drops at the end of a timed run, and what the Great Vault offers at the weekly reset. Vault rewards now scale all the way to +18, so pushing past +10 keeps paying out instead of plateauing.
| Key level | End-of-run item level | Great Vault item level |
|---|---|---|
| +2 | 250 (Champion 2/6) | 259 (Hero 1/6) |
| +6 | 259 (Hero 1/6) | 266 (Hero 3/6) |
| +10 | 266 (Hero 3/6) | 272 (Myth 1/6) |
| +12 | 269 (Hero 4/6) | 276 (Myth 2/6) |
| +15 | 272 (Myth 1/6) | 279 (Myth 3/6) |
| +18 | 276 (Myth 2/6) | 282 (Myth 4/6) — the cap |
Three rules organize the whole system. First, +10 is the season's pivot: it starts Myth-track vault rewards, and timing a +10 in a dungeon permanently unlocks that dungeon's teleport for the season. Second, the vault's dungeon row fills at 1 / 4 / 8 timed runs per week — eight keys means three reward choices. Third, upgrade currency comes as Dawncrests in three M+ tiers: Champion from +2–3, Hero from +4–8, and Myth from +9 and up, which makes +9s the cheapest Myth-crest farm in the game.

The Affix Ladder: From Lindormi's Guidance to Xal'atath's Guile
Midnight Season 1 keeps the rotating-bargain framework and adds a genuinely new idea at the bottom of the ladder: a helper affix for learning routes.
| Key level | What turns on |
|---|---|
| +2 | Lindormi's Guidance — Lindormi highlights and weakens enemies along the route. A learning aid, removed at +6 |
| +5 | Xal'atath's Bargain — one of five Void variants rotates in weekly (see below) |
| +7 | Fortified or Tyrannical — the classic pair, alternating weekly |
| +10 | Fortified and Tyrannical together — both active for the rest of the climb |
| +12 | Xal'atath's Guile — the Bargain is removed; every death subtracts 15 seconds from the timer |
The five Bargain variants: Devour (rifts that eat essence — keep moving), Pulsar (absorb orbiting orbs for a buff), Ascendance (interrupt buff-casting orbs), Voidbound (dispel or heal off a shield debuff), and Emissary (kill the Void Emissary for a party-wide cooldown and Versatility buff — the best push week). Guile at +12 is the season's real difficulty cliff: a single trash wipe costs death time, the run-back, and the 15-second-per-death tax on top. It is why +11 and +12 feel like different games.
Mythic+ Rating: Every Milestone That Matters
Your Mythic+ rating grows from your best result in each of the eight dungeons — higher keys and faster clears score more, and the in-game scoreboard matches what sites like Raider.IO track. These are the season's official milestones, per Blizzard:
| Rating | Achievement | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| 2000 | Midnight Keystone Master: Season One | Calamitous Carrion mount |
| 2500 | Midnight Keystone Hero: Season One | Gleaming Sunmote armor visual effect |
| 3000 | Midnight Keystone Legend: Season One | Convalescent Carrion mount |
| Top 0.1% | Umbral Hero: Midnight Season One | Umbral Hero title at season end |
Two practical notes. Keystone Master at 2000 rating is reachable by timing keys in the +8 to +10 band across all eight dungeons — you do not need to touch Guile territory. And dungeon portals are a separate chase: one timed +10 per dungeon, eight total, usable for the rest of the season with a shared cooldown that resets whenever you complete a key.

The Meta, Briefly
Community tier lists four months in agree on the broad strokes: Augmentation Evoker is the most-wanted DPS slot in high keys (top-100 leaderboard runs overwhelmingly stack it), Brewmaster Monk leads tanks with Protection Paladin close behind, and Resto Druid, Discipline Priest and Mistweaver Monk split the healer crown by affix week. Demonology Warlock, Unholy DK, Outlaw Rogue, Havoc DH and Balance Druid round out the common push-comp DPS picks.
Hold the meta loosely below +12. Through the Keystone Master band, a well-played off-meta spec beats a badly played S-tier one every time, and mid-season tuning keeps shuffling the edges. The meta matters when you are pushing Guile keys or shopping for a group as a DPS — which is exactly where most players either find a static or book a roster.
What a Mythic+ Carry Actually Gets You

Every run is played by vetted PROs and works in both formats: self-play, where you queue with the team and keep your hands on your own character, or piloted, streamed start to finish, for the weeks you'd rather skip. Loot, crests, rating, portals and mounts all land on your character either way.
