WoW Midnight Tier List: Best DPS Specs for Mythic+ and Raid, Ranked

Season 2 / Patch 12.1.0 has been live since 18 August 2026 (19 August on EU). The Season 1 Archon.gg ladder this page used to carry (Aug 4,225 / Devourer 4,206 / Unholy 4,179) is closed. Archon.gg itself returned a human-verification wall on 29 August, so this re-rank uses Murlok.io (S2 M+ DPS, updated 29 Aug, every 8 hours) + Wowhead (Patch 12.1 M+, 28 Aug) + Icy Veins (M+ and raid, 23 Aug). Scores on Murlok are composite dungeon scores, not pick rates — we print them as scores.

Three specs sit in a tight cluster at the top of the Murlok M+ DPS board: Arms Warrior 3555, Arcane Mage 3541, Elemental Shaman 3522. Icy Veins M+ (23 Aug) puts the same three at S+. Wowhead M+ (28 Aug) puts Demonology Warlock alone in S and Arms / Arcane at A+ (Demo is Murlok #9 at 3435, Icy Veins A+). Those letters are printed as a split, not averaged. Augmentation Evoker is 27th / last on Murlok at 2879 and C on Wowhead and Icy Veins.

Mythic+ rankings lead with Murlok.io Midnight Season 2 M+ DPS (role=DPS, content=Mythic+, board stamped “updated 2 hours ago” when read 29 August 2026; the page says it refreshes every 8 hours). The number is a composite score, not a pick percentage. Editorial overlays: Wowhead Patch 12.1 M+ list (updated 28 August 2026) and Icy Veins M+ list (updated 23 August 2026). When those three disagree, both (or all three) letters are shown. Raid uses Icy Veins raid (23 Aug) + Wowhead raid (14 Aug, Venomous Abyss) — Icy Veins S is Arms / Arcane / Subtlety; Wowhead S extracted on 29 Aug is Arms only.

Two honest caveats. First, below +15 a well-played B-tier beats a badly played S-tier. Second, Archon.gg — the board this page used in Season 1 — could not be re-read on 29 August (human verification). We do not invent Archon numbers for Season 2.

Hero-spec note: Scalecommander Aug peaks at 4,225 / 241K, Annihilator Devourer at 4,206 / 241K, Rider Unholy at 4,179 / 246K. Trickster Outlaw (4,148) sits essentially tied with Colossus Arms (4,149) on the hero table but Outlaw remains A at the full-spec aggregate — skill floor and parse volume still matter. Below ~+20 the A-tier is dense; comp fit beats the label.

Raid flips the board. Icy Veins raid list updated 23 August 2026: S = Arms, Arcane, Subtlety. Wowhead raid (Venomous Abyss) updated 14 August 2026: the S band extracted on 29 August is Arms only. Those are ranges, not an average. Season 1 Archon popularity (Frost Mage + Unholy S) is retired.

This page is DPS-first because that is where the tier gaps are widest, but the top of the other two roles is stable enough to state plainly.

Tanks: Brewmaster Monk and Guardian Druid lead high-key discussions into late S1 (Archon tank board cites Guardian near the top of the score band in deep-research synthesis). Protection Paladin stays close on utility. Treat exact tank order as more fluid week-to-week than DPS S-tier.

Healers: Mistweaver Monk, Restoration Druid, and Discipline Priest split the crown by affix week. Deep-research also surfaces Resto Shaman as a strong A-band option. For routes and talent flexing, see our Mythic+ guide.

The popularity trap: Retribution Paladin. Templar Ret still has enormous parse volume (~317K M+ parses, 11.8% popularity) while sitting mid-A on score (3,897) — not S. If you are pushing score and open to a swap, that gap is free rating.

Sleepers: Deathstalker Assassination Rogue (hero score 4,068 on ~868 parses) and Wildstalker Feral (4,146 on ~935 parses) print S-adjacent numbers on tiny samples. Promising — not settled. Wait for volume before maining a reforge around them.

Avoid list: Devastation Evoker remains bottom C (~3,414 score, 159K DPS). Aug is the Evoker. Frost DK, Destruction, and Balance sit in the C band on the live board — each has a same-class alternative that clears higher.

Patch 12.1 (The Curse of Ula'tek) and Season 2 opened 18 August 2026 (19 August on EU). This page is now a Season 2 document — Murlok / Wowhead / Icy Veins as of 23–29 August, not the closed Season 1 Archon ladder.
