Updated 2026-10-28 · 5 min read · by LFCarry PRO team

To unlock the Haranir, finish the Eversong Woods campaign in Midnight, then the Harandar campaign, then the final quest, The War Beyond the Roots, in Silvermoon City. That is the full unlock: 2 campaigns and 1 quest. The race opens for every character on your account, Horde or Alliance. You also get the Ivory Grimlynx mount. A new Haranir that reaches level 50 earns the heritage armor.

Haranir Guide: How to Unlock the Allied Race

How to unlock the Haranir

The unlock takes 4 steps, in this order.

  1. Own Midnight. The Haranir are the allied race of the Midnight expansion.
  2. Finish the Eversong Woods campaign. Completing it offers you the Harandar campaign.
  3. Finish the Harandar campaign. The table below lists its quests in order.
  4. Turn in The War Beyond the Roots. Elder Hagar gives you this final quest in Silvermoon City. You bring word to Lor'themar Theron in the Sanctum of Light, in the same city.

The One With Nature racial gives +5 Herbalism skill and +10 Finesse. Finesse raises the chance of extra gathered materials.Passive

The 10 races with an embassy recruitment chain follow 3 rules.

  • You need a level 40 character on your account.
  • At your faction's embassy in Stormwind or Orgrimmar, that character completes The Call for Allies and A Choice of Allies. These quests open each race's recruitment chain.
  • A new character of any allied race starts at level 10.

Older guides that ask for Exalted reputation are out of date.

See allied race services →A PRO unlocks Horde and Alliance races 1 at a time, or all 5 Alliance races in 1 order.

Is the Haranir worth unlocking?

Yes, for most Midnight players. The unlock is the story you play anyway.

Druid is the best class for a Haranir, because Haranir druids get their own look for 7 forms.

Shaman is a strong 2nd pick, thanks to the root totems.

To pick a spec for Midnight, check the Midnight tier list.

The race also fits players with characters on both factions.

For heritage armor, plan your new Haranir early.
