The short answer: Ranked has no day yet
Activision has not named a Ranked start day, divisions, a Skill Rating table or ranked rewards for 
MW4 yet. Season 1 opens 6 November 2026. The Season 1 roadmap has no Ranked line. Fulfilment starts when the ladder opens.
What does carry a day: the worldwide launch on 23 October 2026. From launch, every owner plays Campaign, Multiplayer, and DMZ. Ranked stays closed at launch. Campaign Early Access opened on 16 October with the Campaign only. DMZ Early Access opened on 20 October. Neither window opened Ranked or Warzone. Date page: release date.
If you want a placement set or a climb reserved, use the ranked page. A pro starts when the ladder is actually open. A 23 October booking for Ranked sits idle until that ladder exists.
Listed platforms for the premium game are PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. PlayStation 4 and last-gen Xbox stay off that list. A last-gen box cannot hold Ranked because it cannot hold MW4.

Series-standard divisions (labelled)
Recent Call of Duty ranked ladders have used a visible division stack of 8 names. Until MW4 prints its own stack, these are the series divisions:
- Bronze
- Silver
- Gold
- Platinum
- Diamond
- Crimson
- Iridescent
- Top 250
Those 8 names sit on official series Ranked pages. They do not sit on an MW4 Ranked article. How far Skill Rating (SR) moves per match is not published for MW4. The placement match count is not out yet. Nothing is published on a hidden MMR under the visible rank.
If the live client uses different division names or collapses a tier, a reserved climb on this site is re-scoped to the printed ladder at no extra charge.
Top 250 in the series is a leaderboard rank. Official series copy puts the Top 250 board inside the Ranked Play menu. MW4 has not printed that board for this title.

What the series used to do, and what MW4 already printed
Ranked Play in recent Call of Duty years has usually opened after the 1st weeks of a title. It often sat on a season clock. It often used a restricted weapon and perk list. It often used a placement set. It often used a seasonal reset. That is series history. MW4 has not confirmed any of those mechanics yet.
What MW4 has published for unranked Multiplayer still matters for a later restricted list. Official pages name all 33 weapons. That split is 24 primary, 8 secondary, and 1 melee. Each gun unlocks at a player level between 4 and 55. Official pages name 18 perks on a Pick 3 system, in 3 categories of 6. They name 17 launch killstreaks. They name 9 tacticals, 11 lethals and 12 field upgrades. They name class-shared attachments. They name 28 Apex attachments. Ninja and Quick Fix return. Movement is boots-on-the-ground. No Ranked restriction list is published yet. An M4 built from the August 6v6 snapshot is not confirmed as Ranked-legal.

12 core 6v6 maps are named for launch. 6 of those names sat in the August test. The other 6 are new at launch on 23 October. No Ranked map pool is published. Do not treat the 12-map launch list as the Ranked pool.
Ranked requirements not yet announced
None of these Ranked gates is announced for MW4 yet:
- The player level that unlocks Ranked.
- Placement-match count.
- SR per win, loss, or kill.
- Restricted weapons, attachments, perks, or killstreaks.
- Ranked rewards, including whether they touch mastery camos.
- Whether Ranked is 4v4, 6v6, or another count.
- Crossplay on or off toggles.
The player level track itself is printed. It runs from Private I at Level 1 to Commander at Level 55. After Level 55 you pick a Classic or Regular Prestige path.

What you will need on any Call of Duty that ships Ranked: an Activision account and a current-gen or PC install. A mobile phone number may be required. PlayStation 4 and last-gen Xbox stay off the platform list. PC needs TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot.
Mastery camos are 3 per mode and 9 in total. Activision named all 9 on 19 October. No Ranked-only camo is announced.
What you can prepare before a day exists
Play the 12 launch 6v6 maps. 6 of those maps are new on 23 October. Finish a Create-a-Class you can stand to replay. Classic Prestige will wipe it. Do not spend a Classic reset the night you expect Ranked to open. You cannot date that night.
Warzone Ranked is a different product. Its MW4 integration arrives with Season 1 on 6 November. The roadmap has no Warzone Ranked day. Zodiac is a Season 1 Resurgence map. Hajin is the DMZ map that also arrives as Battle Royale in Season 1. Those are Season 1 map names. Neither comes with a Ranked announcement. Warzone integration.
Campaign Early Access on 16 October opened without Multiplayer or Ranked. Prestige opens after Level 55. Multiplayer and DMZ XP both count toward that level. Multiplayer starts at launch on 23 October. A Campaign finish does not count toward the Ranked gate. Activision has not published that gate yet.

Preload opened on Wednesday 14 October at 9 PM PT on every platform. August test preloads stay historical. Plan the install on the account that will play Ranked later.

Season 1 is a Warzone clock
Season 1 is when Warzone integrates MW4 content. Season 1 is when Vault cosmetics can grant in Warzone. BlackCell can grant 1,100 CoD Points, 20 tier skips, and 100+ Battle Pass rewards when that season’s Battle Pass is in-game. Access starts when that Battle Pass is live. None of that text is a Ranked Play date. Shops that print a Season 1 Ranked day without an official URL stay off this page.
BlackCell is 1 season of the Battle Pass. Buy or play before or during Season 1 and you get Season 1 BlackCell. A later purchase gets the current season. BlackCell carries no ranked reward.
Vault Edition lists at $99.99 on the US Microsoft store. Standard lists at $69.99. Vault extras wait for Season 01 in Warzone. They add no Ranked SR or placement matches. Editions table: release date.

MW4 has no published tactical-nuke threshold yet. The full Multiplayer list of 17 launch killstreaks is printed. Those 17 sit in unranked Multiplayer. Killstreak limits for Ranked are not published yet.
