MW4 BlackCell Challenges: How to Complete the Camo Track and Get the XERO Skins (Season 1)

BlackCell challenges are the Season 1 unlocks of Modern Warfare 4 that only BlackCell owners can complete. Season 1 started at midnight ET on 6 November 2026, 05:00 UTC.

BlackCell is the premium tier of the Season 1 Battle Pass. It sells on its own, and the Vault Edition includes it.

Buying BlackCell gives you XERO, its Operator, at once. On top of that sit 3 sets of challenges: Kills, Victories and the BlackCell camo track.

Here is how to complete them in order:

1. Get BlackCell. Buy it on its own, or log in with the Vault Edition during Season 1.
2. Play the Kills challenge. 3,000 points unlock the Cowled skin for XERO and the Occultus M4 blueprint.
3. Play the Victories challenge. 100 points unlock the Adder skin and the Exitium M4 blueprint.
4. Finish the 5 class camos. Infiltrator, Cell Ops, Gold Tiger, Whirlpool and Intercept each take 1 challenge with any weapon of their class.
5. Earn Spinal Verge. Its mastery challenge opens once the 5 class camos are done.

A PRO plays the whole BlackCell camo track on your account, plus the XERO skins and M4 blueprints you add.

The BlackCell camo track has 6 camos: 1 for each of 5 weapon classes, then the Spinal Verge mastery camo. Each challenge has a Multiplayer, a DMZ and a Warzone version, and you complete it with any weapon of the class.

Once a camo is done, you can put it on any weapon in the game.

The DMZ versions ask for the biggest counts, such as 200 SMG kills for Cell Ops. Pick the mode you play most for each camo.

XERO is the BlackCell Operator of Season 1, and BlackCell owners get him on day 1. The Perimeter Lance M4 blueprint comes with him.

2 more XERO skins and 2 more M4 blueprints come from 2 point challenges. You track both in game.

In Multiplayer alone, 3,000 points means 600 kills. In Warzone the same target takes 200 kills.

The Victories target is 10 match wins in Multiplayer. In DMZ, 5 successful exfils reach it.

The camo challenges take any weapon of the class. 1 favourite gun per class is enough for the whole track.

Pick the mode per challenge. A Warzone kill is worth 15 points toward Cowled, 3 times a Multiplayer kill.
