How to level up weapons fast in MW4
The fastest way to level up weapons in Modern Warfare 4 is objective play with 1 gun at a time. Kill Confirmed, Hardpoint and Domination give the most weapon XP per match.
Run Weapon 2XP tokens during those matches. In MW4 a token counts down only while you are in a match.
Max a few guns from different classes 1st. MW4 shares attachments across guns, so each new gun skips the levels for attachments you already own.
Modern Warfare 4 launched on 23 October 2026 with 33 guns. Season 1 starts on 6 November and adds the 
Cronen Osprey assault rifle and the 
CSG-35 SMG.
Max weapon levels run from 37 to 75. The 
KG-7 Vulcan has the longest track at 75 levels.

The 6 fastest ways to level weapons in MW4
- Play objective modes. Kill Confirmed, Hardpoint and Domination pay score for tags, hills and flags on top of your kills.
- Use 1 gun per session. Weapon XP goes to the gun in your hands, so keep the gun you are leveling equipped.
- Run Weapon 2XP tokens in full matches. The timer stops in menus and lobbies, so a token lasts for real play time.
- Max a few guns from different classes 1st. Shared attachments then turn levels on your next guns into Bonus Level Ups.
- Queue small maps. Shipment joined the playlist on 27 October and packs fights close together.
- Claim the Season 1 Battle Pass tokens. Its tiers carry Weapon 2XP tokens from 6 November.

Search and Destroy and Collateral got a kill XP raise on 25 October, from 100 to 300 XP a kill. A round of Search and Destroy still ends for you at your 1st death.
The 29 October update raised XP earn rates across several Multiplayer modes. Infinity Ward said more XP changes are coming.

When to run Weapon 2XP tokens
MW4 has separate tokens for player XP, Weapon XP and Battle Pass XP. A Weapon 2XP token doubles the XP your gun earns.
Each token counts down only during match time. It pauses in menus and lobbies and runs again in your next match.
Turn a Weapon 2XP token on when you start a new gun. Its early levels then come fast and unlock shared attachments for your other guns.

Shared attachments, Bonus Level Ups and max level
In MW4 each attachment unlocks once. Every other gun that uses the same attachment gets it at the same moment.
When a gun reaches a level that would give an attachment you already own, it skips that level. The game calls it a Bonus Level Up.
That makes your 1st guns the slowest. Max 1 gun in each class you play, and your next guns in that class level faster.
Max level opens the gun's Apex Attachment. It goes on separately from your normal attachments and takes no slot.
Weapon Prestige opens at that point too. It resets that gun's level and pays the Pyroclast camos, and your shared attachments stay unlocked on other guns.

Each new gun starts at level 1. Attachments you already own carry over to it, so its track is shorter for an account that maxed other guns.

You pick the scope: 1 gun, 5 guns, 10 guns or all 33 launch guns. Weapon Prestige for 1 gun is a separate option.
Your gun keeps its Apex Attachment and every attachment unlocked on the way.
