MW4 Operators: Every Operator and How to Unlock It

Modern Warfare 4 Operators unlock in 7 ways. Some are free from the start, and the rest come from the Campaign, DMZ, Multiplayer challenges, a pre-order, the Vault Edition or a pack.

The Campaign gives the most. 8 Operators unlock as you finish story missions, so 1 full Campaign run opens all 8.

DMZ gives 4 more at DMZ player levels 4, 9, 15 and 19. 5 Multiplayer Operators wait behind kill challenges, from 50 headshots to 20 longshots.

Season 1 starts on 5 November at 9 PM PT, which is midnight ET on 6 November. It brings 2 new Operators, Blix and XERO.

Min-Hee, CTSFO, Mil-Sim KSK Arctic, UCTF and Army SF Airborne are free from the 1st match. A pre-order adds Hunter Killer, and the Vault Edition adds 8 more, Ghost and Price among them.

Each Campaign Operator is tied to 1 story mission. Finish that mission and the Operator opens in Multiplayer and DMZ.

Each unlock asks only for the mission to be complete. The launch list sets no difficulty for it.

DMZ Operators

DMZ Operators unlock with your DMZ player level. Extractions and missions in DMZ raise that level.

Multiplayer challenge Operators

These 5 challenges count kills on enemy Operators in Multiplayer matches.

Blackwell	Get 3 kills without dying, 10 times
Jae	Get 50 hipfire kills
Velikan	Get 15 double kills or better
Valen	Get 20 longshot kills
Zimo	Get 50 headshot kills

• Jae and Zimo fit together. An SMG with a laser racks up hipfire kills, and every headshot counts toward Zimo.
• Valen needs longshots, so run a sniper or a marksman rifle on a large map.
• Blackwell asks for 10 streaks of 3 kills. Small maps and respawn modes give the most chances.
• Velikan counts double kills or better. Hardpoint and Domination stack players on 1 spot.

Each Create-a-Class loadout carries its own Operator in MW4. Open Create-a-Class in the Multiplayer menu and pick the Operator field at the top of a loadout.

That lets a sniper class run Valen and an SMG class run Jae. Builds for every weapon class are in best MW4 loadouts.

Operators belong to factions such as Shadow Company, JSOF and Valeria's Strike Cell. Dallas, Simone and Velikan fight for Shadow Company.

Season 1 goes live on 5 November at 9 PM PT across every platform. It adds the Operators Blix and XERO.

XERO is the BlackCell Operator of Season 1.

Blix is a South Korean special forces veteran who now works for Nikto. Vault Edition owners have him from launch.

DMZ adds X01, a new Blacksite, in the same update.
