How much is WoW Forever to play?
You do not buy Forever as a separate base box. World of Warcraft: Forever is included with a World of Warcraft Subscription or Game Time when it launches on 4 November 2026 at 3:00 PM PST.
The subscription is $14.99 for 1 month, $13.99 per month on the 3-month plan and $12.99 per month on the 6-month and 12-month plans (US Battle.net shop, September 2026). Game Time works the same way. Forever does not add a 2nd base fee on top of that sub in Blizzard's posts.
Optional packs sit in the shop. They unlock extras. They are not required to log in and level from 1 to 60.
PC and Mac are the platforms named on Blizzard's Forever site chrome.
Everyone starts at level 1 on launch day. The level cap is 60. Paid character boosts are not sold inside Forever packs.
See the release date page for the full calendar from beta through
raid unlock.
What is free with the subscription?
With a live sub or Game Time you get Forever access at launch. That covers open rulesets, the reworked world, the 9 new
dungeons, the new zones and the path to 60.
Raids unlock on 9 December 2026 for that same access. Class changes, Legacy Points and camping systems ship with the game.
The Skyborne race is a paid unlock. It needs the Skyborne Heroic Pack or a higher edition. Name reservation and beta also sit behind packs.
Invite-A-Friend Launch Codes let an invitee play Forever from 4 to 11 November without a sub or Game Time. Codes email from 20 October. Invitees still get no beta.
Hardcore arrives after launch on the published roadmap. Day-1 play is on Normal, PvP or Roleplaying with the same sub.
Group, dungeon and
raid play stay inside your ruleset. Factions stay separate.
Battlegrounds may mix except for Hardcore when that ruleset opens.
Transmog is opt-in. You can disable it. Classic Mode disables it on entry. Appearance sharing rules differ for dungeon and raid epics.
Editions: Heroic, Epic, Collection and CE
Blizzard sells 4 upgrade paths. Compare full edition contents on the editions page. On the US Battle.net shop the Skyborne Heroic Pack is $29.99, the Skyborne Epic Pack $59.99 and the Warcraft Forever Collection $79.99. EU prices are €29.99, €59.99 and €79.99. The Collector's Edition is a boxed product sold separately. Check Battle.net Shop for the live tag.
| Edition | What Blizzard lists |
|---|---|
| Skyborne Heroic Pack | Skyborne + |
| Skyborne Epic Pack | All Heroic + beta + 30 days Game Time from 4 Nov + more cosmetics + 3 codes total |
| Warcraft Forever Collection | All Epic + WC3: Reforged + |
| Collector's Edition | Physical set on the Blizzard Gear Store while supplies last; includes the Collection digital code |
Buy Epic now and upgrade later if Blizzard's shop upgrade rule still applies at purchase time. Read the shop footer before you pay.
Gift purchases may not grant Invite-A-Friend codes. Confirm the code rules on the support article linked from Blizzard's pre-purchase post.
Collector's Edition stock is limited. Shipping regions and household limits are listed on the Gear Store product page.
Heroic is the cheapest path to Skyborne and name holds. Epic is the path that adds beta. Collection adds Warcraft III Reforged content through 11 January 2027.
How much does the WoW Forever beta cost?
Beta runs 17 September to 21 October 2026 (PST). It is included with the Skyborne Epic Pack and the Warcraft Forever Collection (and the Collector's Edition digital path).
The Heroic Pack does not include beta. No free open beta opt-in is published as of 23 September 2026.
Epic is $59.99 and Collection $79.99, so beta access starts at $59.99. The $29.99 Heroic Pack has no beta. The beta page covers caps and what carries over. Beta progress does not carry to live.
Cap sits at 20, then 30, during the beta window. Use beta to test class feel and
quest flow, then restart at 1 on 4 November.
Epic also adds 30 days of Game Time starting 4 November. That Game Time is part of the pack contents. It is ordinary Game Time.
Respec, dual spec and mount cost
Blizzard moved the mount cost into riding training, the Burning Crusade model: you pay for the riding skill and the mount comes with it. There are no flying mounts in Forever. The Cerulean Prideclaw from the packs also needs the riding skill before you can ride it.
Dual specialization is the 1 open question on this page as of 23 September 2026. Blizzard has neither confirmed nor ruled it out, and the dual spec page tracks it. Classic Era's respec ladder starts at 1 gold and caps at 50 gold; use that as the reference until Forever posts its own number.
Name reservation and what packs buy you
Early Name Reservation runs 27 October to 3 November 2026 (PST) with any upgrade purchase. You can create and customize up to 3 characters. Names are claimed in order and are not guaranteed.
That window is the main launch prep buy for many players who already have a sub. Heroic is enough for Skyborne and name holds. Epic adds beta and Game Time.
Read the name reservation page before 27 October so the 3 slots are planned.
2-part character names are unique per region. Language preference is account-wide with a 24-hour cooldown.
On PvP rulesets you create
Alliance or
Horde only on that account. Normal and Roleplaying allow both factions.
Leveling help prices on LFCarry
Blizzard does not sell a paid character boost inside Forever packs. The only paid Forever unlocks in those packs are Skyborne, beta, name reservation, cosmetics and Game Time.
If you want a Pro on your account for 1 to 60, LFCarry's leveling pre-order is $299 with 1 booster or $420 with 2 boosters (regular $399 / $599). That is a service price, separate from Blizzard's shop.
Raids open 9 December. The pre-order exists so you can be 60 with gear
quests done when that week starts.
Dungeon runs and profession help sit on the same shelf if you only need a short block after launch.
Hold a launch slot if you are still choosing 1 booster or 2. The shelf page shows the live packages.
Quote the class and the hours you can play after 4 November. The chat returns a plan that fits the 5 weeks before
raids.
Gold and coaching packages are listed under /wow-forever if you need economy help after 60.
