How to Complete Excavation Site in WoW Forever: Bosses, Loot and Quests

Excavation Site is 1 of the 9 new 5-player dungeons in WoW Forever. It sits above Whelgar's Excavation in the Wetlands, near Thelgen Rock and Dun Algaz.

Blizzard lists it for levels 24 to 29. The last boss is level 31, so a group of level 26 characters has an easier time. You can take its quests from level 24.

Here is the run from start to finish:

1. Take the quests. Pick up the faction quests listed below before you travel. The Titan Relic quests start inside, from the last boss.
2. Reach the entrance. Ride to the east side of the Wetlands and follow the new road up the hill to the portal.
3. Cross the lake. Saltspine, a crocolisk, patrols the water. Clear the trash around it, then pull it alone.
4. Stay out of the tall grass. Raptors hide in it and join any fight you start there. Shadetooth and 2 Thicket Hunters roam this path.
5. Wake Relic Guardian. Press the Archival Panel to the right of the titan construct. Kill it and loot the Titan Relic.

A full clear takes 1 group of 5: a tank, a healer and 3 damage dealers. Our Pros can clear it with you as your group, or 1 Pro plays your character through it.

The entrance is on the east side of the Wetlands, above Whelgar's Excavation. That hill was closed in Classic. New roads now lead up to the dungeon portal.

Alliance characters reach it from Menethil Harbor. A ship now sails to Menethil. The road from Loch Modan leads in from the east.

Horde characters travel down through Hillsbrad Foothills and Arathi Highlands into the Wetlands. Pick up the flight paths at Tarren Mill and Hammerfall on the way.

The Wetlands has 1 graveyard, far to the west. A full wipe means a long run back, so bring a class that can resurrect.

1. Saltspine

Saltspine is a crocolisk that patrols the lake. Clear the packs around it before the pull, or the tank and healer face too much at once.

Dust Storm hits everyone within 10 yards. Casters and healers stand back from the boss. Tendon Rip slows the tank.

2. Shadetooth

Shadetooth is the hardest fight in the dungeon. The raptor roams the path with 2 Thicket Hunters at its side.

Terrifying Roar fears the group for 5 seconds. A fear can push you into the tall grass, where more raptors wait. Clear that grass before the pull, or bring Tremor Totem or Fear Ward for the tank.

The Thicket Hunters put a wound on their target. Cleanse it at once. Crowd-control 1 hunter, or both, while you kill the boss.

Rend hits the tank hard, and Shadetooth enrages at low health. Stuns and slows work on it, so save them for the end.

3. Relic Guardian

Relic Guardian is a titan construct and the last boss. It is level 31, so attacks from a level 26 group miss more often. Give the tank time to build threat.

Press the Archival Panel to its right to start the fight. Thunderclap slows everyone within 10 yards. Ranged players stay out of that circle.

The boss knocks the tank back and stuns it for a short time. It can be stunned and slowed too, and the group can kite it around the structures in the room.

The dungeon has 11 quests: 7 for the Alliance and 4 for the Horde. Take them before you go in, except the 2 that start from the Titan Relic.

Each boss drops blue gear for level 26 to 31 characters. Relic Guardian also drops the Titan Relic for the quest chain.

Ring of Power Regulation and Glinteye Slippers add spell power, so casters and healers roll on them. Golemsight Long Gun adds Agility for Hunters.

Bring a tank, a healer and 3 damage dealers. Go at level 26 or later, since Relic Guardian is level 31.

A Shaman or a Priest helps against the Shadetooth fear. A class that can cleanse clears the wound from the Thicket Hunters.

Hunters and Shamans can slow Relic Guardian, so the group can kite it if the tank falls behind.
