All Marvel Rivals Ranks in Order (Season 9)
Nine tiers, 23 ranks total. Divisions run III → II → I (III is the entry division of that tier). Eternity and One Above All have no III/II/I split.

| III · II · I | 100 | Default start for new Competitive accounts | |
| III · II · I | 100 | ~300 pts for a full Bronze→Silver leap | |

| III · II · I | 100 | Nameplate-frame reward tier in recent seasons | |
| III · II · I | 100 | Large mid-ladder band on live distribution | |
| III · II · I | 100 | Often the biggest non-Bronze pile (GM3) | |

| Open | Top 500 by points | Highest rank — global Top 500 only |
Unlock Competitive: account Level 15 (raised from Level 10 after launch). Wins add rank points (MVP / streaks help); losses subtract. A full metal tier leap is 300 points (three × 100).

Hottest single division: Bronze 3 at 18.11% (everyone starts / re-enters here). Second mound = Grandmaster 3 at 8.09% — Chrono Shield + soft mid-ladder create a second pile above the metals.
Cross-check (Esports Tales, Season 8 / June 2026): Bronze 24.74% · Silver 9.65% · Gold 12.34% · Plat 13.72% · Diamond 15.71% · GM 15.44% · Celestial 6.73% · Eternity 1.51% · OAA 0.10%. Same shape within ~1pp — treat Jul 15 Rivalstracker PC as the live table, not a reinvented ladder.
Is Diamond good? Diamond+ is roughly the top 39%. Grandmaster+ ≈ top 23%. Celestial+ ≈ top 8%. Eternity+ ≈ top 1.5%.
How Marvel Rivals Ranked Works (Points, Bans, Shields)
- 100 rank points promote you one division (III→II→I). Three divisions = one full tier leap (~300 pts).
- Point gains/losses scale with match result, personal performance, and MVP — there is no fixed +20/-20 every game.
- Chrono Shield blocks a demotion when you would otherwise drop a division; it recharges after losses / via Chrono Shield Cards from events. Strongest safety net is in the metal ranks (Gold and below per long-running guides).
- Hero bans: when the lobby is
Gold III+, each team bans three heroes (raised from two before Season 7). - Party rules: Bronze–Grandmaster can stack (no 5-stack); Celestial–One Above All = solo/duo only. During placements, party size ≤3.
- Modes: Competitive uses Domination, Convoy, and Convergence (stricter timers than Quick Match).
Want the Season 9 hero meta for those bans? Use the sibling Marvel Rivals tier list — this page stays on the ladder itself.
Season Reset & Placements (What Season 9 Uses)
Current system (since Season 5): hard “drop X divisions and play” was replaced by 10 Placement Matches. At season open you get a predicted rank, then 10 games adjust you.
- Predicted start (typical returner): last season final rank minus 3 divisions.
- High-elo floor: anyone who finished Celestial II / Celestial I / Eternity / One Above All starts placements at
Grandmaster II. - Low-elo floor: Bronze III–Silver III finishers re-enter at Bronze III.
- After 10 games: you can land up to ~1–2 divisions above last season’s final, but not above Celestial I; floor stays Bronze III. A 5–5 placement set usually lands near the predicted rank.
- Never played 10 ranked games before: estimated start Silver III.
Season 9 reward callout (official notes): reach Gold or above for the exclusive Jubilee — Crimson Crown costume. Rewards track highest rank hit in the season window (except Top 500, which is end-of-window leaderboard).
Note: older patch notes and some tracker blurbs still say “demote 7 divisions.” That was the pre–Season 5 rule. For Season 9, trust the placement model above unless NetEase publishes a one-off override (none in the Version 20260710 Season 9 notes).
Climbing Tips by Rank Bracket
| Bracket | Focus |
|---|---|
| One hero per role from the high-WR set (see tier list). Stop after two losses — Chrono Shield cannot save tilt. Learn Convoy/Convergence checkpoint timers. | |
| Bans start here — track who gets banned every lobby. Flex a second Duelist + a safe Strategist. Hit Gold early for the S9 Jubilee skin, then keep climbing for crests. | |
| Largest skilled mass on the curve. Comms + role queue discipline beat raw aim. Expect GM3 traffic jams — win streaks matter more than one-trick comfort picks. | |
| Solo/duo only. Play the Season 9 Team-Up meta, not last month’s 8.5 list. Schedule blocks so you finish placements fresh at season open. | |
| Points race + activity expectations. One Above All is Top 500 by score — volume and consistency, not a cosmetic title alone. |
If the grind is the bottleneck — not game knowledge — a targeted climb to your next reward tier is often cheaper than another 100-game slog. See the boost CTA below.
