Updated 2026-11-04 · 6 min read · by LFCarry PRO team

Heirloom is the Exotic Solar bow of Equilibrium, the Renegades dungeon on Venus. It can drop when you beat the final boss, Dredgen Sere. Each character gets 1 chance a week. The catalyst opens after the dungeon quest, The Way Between.

How to Get Heirloom in Destiny 2 (Equilibrium)

How to get Heirloom: beat Dredgen Sere

Heirloom drops from Equilibrium, the dungeon that came with Renegades. You need the Renegades expansion to play it.

  1. Get The Way Between. Aunor gives this dungeon quest in the Cantina of the Tharsis Outpost. It unlocks after step 5 of the Renegades pursuit.
  2. Launch Equilibrium. The dungeon sits on Venus and takes 1 to 3 players.
  3. Clear Harvester and Harrow, Dredgen-Apprentice. These are the 1st 2 encounters.
  4. Beat Dredgen Sere. Heirloom can drop from the final boss.
  5. Repeat on your other characters. Heirloom can drop once per character each week, so 3 characters give 3 chances.

A Pro can also farm Dredgen Sere on all 3 of your characters every week until Heirloom drops.

Heirloom catalyst: finish The Way Between

The Heirloom Catalyst opens after you finish The Way Between.

  1. Find the hidden relics. The quest spreads them across several full clears of the dungeon.
  2. Beat the secret boss. Place the last relic, stand in the well and defeat Shade of Sere.
  3. Unlock loot focusing. Finishing the quest opens focusing for the dungeon rewards.
  4. Attune to the Heirloom Catalyst at the Temple Brazier. Then clear encounters until the catalyst drops.

Attuning raises the drop chance of that item in every Equilibrium encounter. Only 1 item can be attuned at a time.

The catalyst makes direct hits with charged shots scorch the target. Heirloom then deals more damage to scorched targets.

The exotic catalyst list shows how each other catalyst drops.

What Heirloom does: explosive Solar bolts

Heirloom is an Exotic Solar Combat Bow that uses Special ammo. It fires bolts, so many players call it a crossbow.

  • Bolt Thrower (intrinsic). It fires high-powered explosive bolts and counters Unstoppable Champions.
  • Charged shots. Aim down sights for a while to overcharge the next bolt. Each charge level adds damage and area of effect.

The Equilibrium weapons and armor sit on our dungeon loot tables. For where Heirloom ranks, see our exotic weapon tier list.

Heirloom in Monument of Triumph (2026)

Renegades brought Equilibrium, and the dungeon opened on 13 December 2025 with a 48-hour Contest Mode. Clearing every encounter in Contest Mode guaranteed Heirloom.

Update 9.7.0 brought Monument of Triumph on 9 June 2026. Equilibrium still drops Heirloom, 1 chance per character a week.

Bungie set out what comes next for Destiny on 29 October 2026. Our Un-Vault guide covers the rest of the vault.
