How to complete The Way Between: all 10 steps
The Way Between is the dungeon quest of Equilibrium. Aunor Mahal gives it at the Tharsis Outpost once you finish the Renegades story. You need the Renegades expansion and the 
Praxic Blade.
- Speak with Aunor. She hands you the quest at the Tharsis Outpost.
- Clear Equilibrium. Dredgen Sere drops the
Integrated Relic, the 1st stolen relic. - Return Sere's relic to the Praxic Temple. The temple sits at the start of the dungeon, after the 1st encounter. Skip the ship and walk back to it.
- Recover another relic. Solve the 1st hidden puzzle, then clear the dungeon and return the relic.
- Master the Darkness. Solve the 2nd puzzle on the way to Harrow, then clear and return the relic.
- Traverse the Imperium's shadows. Solve the jumping puzzle after Harrow for the last relic. Clear and return it.
- Open the Taken portal in the inner temple. The 4th relic opens it.
- Defeat Shade of Sere. This is the secret boss of the dungeon.
- Commune with the Praxic fire. It sits in the temple after the fight.
- Visit Aunor. She closes the quest.

Each puzzle starts at a Taken blight. Break it with the Praxic Blade to begin.

The 3 puzzles share 1 loop. Taken energy gives you Shadow buffs. Kill the Acolyte's Eyes to keep the timer running. Use your Shadow power to break the immune shields on the Taken.
On relic 4, the Praxic Blade breaks blights into platforms. Knock the shielded enemies off the ledges to clear the path.
After each puzzle, finish the dungeon. The clear charges the relic, and you return it to the temple.

Shade of Sere: the secret boss
Place the 4th relic in the inner temple. A Taken portal opens to Shade of Sere.
- Build your Shadow buff. Kill the Taken and the Acolyte's Eyes to keep the timer going.
- Climb to the boss. Break the floating blights with the Praxic Blade. Each one turns into a platform.
- Strip the boss's shield. Hit Shade of Sere with your Shadow power. That opens a damage phase.
- Repeat it once more. The fight has 2 damage phases.
After the kill, commune with the Praxic fire in the temple. Then return to Aunor to close the quest.

The Way Between rewards: attunement and 2 catalysts
- Loot attunement. The Temple Brazier lets you attune to 1 Equilibrium reward at a time. That raises its drop chance in every encounter.
Heirloom Catalyst. Attune to it at the Temple Brazier. Then clear encounters until it drops. It needs the 
Heirloom bow on your account.
Energy Conduit. A catalyst for the Praxic Blade, locked inside Equilibrium.

The Way Between in Monument of Triumph (2026)
Equilibrium arrived with Renegades on 13 December 2025. It sits on Venus and takes 1 to 3 players.
Monument of Triumph, Update 9.7.0 of 9 June 2026, keeps the dungeon and its quest in the game.
Each week Destiny 2 features 2 dungeons. Our weekly rotation shows if Equilibrium is one of them. The rotation changes at the weekly reset, every Tuesday at 17:00 UTC.
