Equilibrium is the Renegades dungeon on Venus for 1 to 3 players. It has 3 encounters: Harvester, Harrow and Dredgen Sere. Every fight runs on Shadow ranks that you build from Taken energy.

How to Complete the Equilibrium Dungeon in Destiny 2 (All Encounters)

How to complete Equilibrium: 3 encounters

Equilibrium needs the Renegades expansion. It opened on 13 December 2025. The standard version recommends Power 100.

  1. Launch Equilibrium on Venus. Bring 1 to 3 players.
  2. Beat Harvester. Break the shields of the Nameless Apprentices with Shadow attacks.
  3. Beat Harrow, Dredgen-Apprentice. Bait him into traps to break his shield.
  4. Beat Dredgen Sere. Clear the Lure of the Dark timer, then damage him in the arena.

A Pro can also clear Equilibrium on your account, on 1 to 3 characters.

Equilibrium, cleared for you

A PRO runs Equilibrium on your account: the weekly Heirloom farm, the Praxic title or The Way Between.

Encounter 1: Harvester and the Nameless Apprentices

The 1st encounter pits you against the Barant Imperium forces. 3 Nameless Apprentices spawn with immune shields.

  1. Pull an Apprentice to a Cabal device. Extend its Arc pylon while he charges his Darkness blast. The blast charges the device and drops the nearby barrier.
  2. Ride through the tunnels. Collect Gathering Shadow from the Taken pools on the way.
  3. Watch Creeping Shadows. The debuff builds while you stay in the tunnels and kills you at the end.
  4. Reach Shadow Novice. Your grenade becomes a Shadow attack.
  5. Break the shields. Hit the Apprentices with the Shadow attack, then kill them and the Behemoths.

Encounter 2: Harrow, Dredgen-Apprentice

Harrow is the 2nd boss. His fight adds a 2nd Shadow rank.

  1. Clear the side rooms. Doors open on both sides of the arena, and the Lackeys inside drop Taken energy.
  2. Build Shadow Novice, then Shadow Apprentice. Double the Shadow you hold to reach the 2nd rank.
  3. Bait Harrow into a trap. Lure him onto charged Arc coils or into the pits. Each trap breaks part of his shield.
  4. Damage him. Hit him hard while his shield is down.

Our guide to joining a run at a later boss covers how to skip ahead.

Final boss: Dredgen Sere

Dredgen Sere pulls the team into his Taken realm on a timer. The fight needs all 3 Shadow ranks.

  1. Start the fight. Approach Dredgen Sere. A Lure of the Dark timer starts and runs 45 seconds.
  2. Free the small blights. With Shadow Novice or higher, kill a Nameless Apprentice. His death drops the shield on 1 of 5 small blights.
  3. Destroy the blights. Each one you break removes a slot from Lure of the Dark.
  4. Enter the Taken realm. When the timer ends, the team moves to a Taken copy of the arena with 5 Blistered Shadows.
  5. Kill or compel the Blistered Shadows. With Shadow Master, you compel them instead of killing them. Both raise the damage you deal next.
  6. Damage Dredgen Sere. Back in the arena he is open. Damage him until he goes immune, then repeat the cycle.

Heirloom, the Exotic Solar bow, can drop when he falls. Each of your characters can earn 1 drop chance a week. Our Heirloom guide covers the drop and its catalyst.

Secret boss: Shade of Sere and The Way Between

The Way Between is the dungeon quest. Aunor gives it in the Cantina of the Tharsis Outpost, after step 5 of the Renegades pursuit.

  1. Finish your 1st clear. The quest starts after it.
  2. Place a relic in the Praxic Temple. The table sits in the 1st encounter arena, at the start of the dungeon.
  3. Earn the next relics. Each full clear adds a relic through a hidden puzzle in the dungeon.
  4. Beat Shade of Sere. Open the Taken portal with the last relic and defeat the secret boss.

The quest opens loot focusing at the Temple Brazier. It also unlocks the Heirloom catalyst and Energy Conduit, a catalyst of the Praxic Blade. Our Praxic Blade guide covers its other upgrades.

Each weapon and armor piece, encounter by encounter, is in our dungeon drops guide.

Equilibrium in Monument of Triumph (2026)

Equilibrium opened on 13 December 2025 with a 48-hour Contest Mode. Monument of Triumph arrived with Update 9.7.0 on 9 June 2026. Equilibrium still drops Heirloom.
