How to Get Hierarchy of Needs and Its Catalyst

Updated 2026-11-03 · 5 min read · by LFCarry PRO team

Hierarchy of Needs drops from Persys, the final boss of Spire of the Watcher. Every Persys clear has a chance to drop the Solar bow, so you can farm it. A solo clear, a Master clear and the hidden recordings raise that chance. The catalyst comes from a Master clear and unlocks after 700 kills.

How to get Hierarchy of Needs in Destiny 2

Hierarchy of Needs is a Solar Exotic bow from the Spire of the Watcher dungeon. Persys, the final boss, drops it. Each Persys clear rolls a new chance at the bow. Raid and dungeon Exotics are farmable in Monument of Triumph.

StepWhat to do
1Unlock Spire of the Watcher. The Witch Queen Dungeon Key opens it. Destiny 2: The Collection includes every Dungeon Key.
2Launch Spire of the Watcher from the Raids and Dungeons node on the Director.
3Clear the 3 encounters: the climb up the Spire, Akelous, then Persys.
4Check your rewards after Persys. Each new Persys clear is a new chance at the bow.
5Complete the Triumphs in the next section to raise your odds.

A PRO can farm Persys on your account until Hierarchy of Needs drops.

A PRO runs Spire of the Watcher until Persys drops the bow. The catalyst, its masterwork and a solo flawless clear are options on the page.

How to raise the Hierarchy of Needs drop chance

Bungie has not published the drop rate for Hierarchy of Needs. These Spire of the Watcher Triumphs raise it once you complete them:

TriumphWhat it asks
Solo clearComplete all encounters solo, without leaving the activity.
Resident VexpertComplete the dungeon on Master difficulty.
Devil in the DetailsFind and listen to every hidden recording in the dungeon.

Each Triumph you complete raises the chance for every later clear. The Master clear for Resident Vexpert also drops the catalyst, so 1 run serves both goals.

The rest of the dungeon's weapons and armor are in our dungeon loot tables.

How to get the Hierarchy of Needs catalyst

The Hierarchy of Needs catalyst comes from a Master clear of Spire of the Watcher. After it drops, the bow needs 700 kills to unlock it.

In the game's words, deploying a Guidance Ring or striking a target with a seeking projectile "improves draw time, hip-fire accuracy, and reload speed for a moderate duration". Update 9.7.0 added the hip-fire accuracy on 9 June 2026.

For the 700 kills, pick rooms full of weak enemies and keep the bow out. Other Exotic catalysts and their unlock steps are on our exotic catalyst list.

What Hierarchy of Needs does

Hierarchy of Needs is a Solar Combat Bow that uses Primary ammo. Its kit has 2 perks.

PerkWhat it does
Guidance RingPrecision hits and final blows build Guidance Ring energy. Opposing Guardians grant extra energy. At full charge, hip firing creates a Guidance Ring.
Apollonic TangentArrows fired through a Guidance Ring release seeking projectiles. The seekers scorch targets and deal more damage the farther they travel. Precision hits guide them toward their targets.

To use it, charge the ring with precision hits, then hip fire to place it. Fire your next arrows through the ring. The seekers hit harder over distance, so keep some range on the target.

Update 9.7.0 on 9 June 2026 made the seekers scorch the targets they hit. It also added hidden tracking that guides seekers toward targets hit with precision damage.

Hierarchy of Needs in Monument of Triumph

Monument of Triumph went live on 9 June 2026 with Update 9.7.0. Bungie calls it the final release for Destiny 2. It stays in the game with no end date.

Raid and dungeon Exotics are farmable in this release. 2 featured dungeons rotate each week. A featured dungeon on Master drops Tier 5 weapons and armor. This week's featured dungeons are in our weekly rotation.

On Steam, the Dungeon Key Pack opens Spire of the Watcher and 5 more dungeons. Eververse also sells the Dungeon Keys.

On 29 October 2026 Bungie set out its next steps. The 1st unvaulting pass will bring back 4 older campaigns. Bungie plans its next major Destiny news for February 2027. Our Un-Vault guide lists the 4 campaigns.

Getting Hierarchy of Needs with LFCarry

Persys can take many clears before the bow drops. A PRO plays Spire of the Watcher on your account and farms Persys until Hierarchy of Needs drops.

  • Hierarchy of Needs. The farm runs until the bow drops. The catalyst, its masterwork and a solo flawless clear are options on the page.
  • The 700 kills. A custom farm finishes the catalyst count on your account.
  • Coaching. A PRO joins your fireteam and walks you through the 3 encounters.

Each card prints its live price. Tell the chat what is left: the bow, the catalyst or the kills. Solo flawless runs of every dungeon are ranked in our solo flawless guide.
