WoW Forever Protection Warrior PvP Guide

• October 15, 2026 patch notes. Protection gets no direct changes in the 15 October notes. Lingering Rage no longer stops health regeneration after combat, and Shield Bash and Shield Slam no longer trigger Weaponmaster's Sword Specialization. The new 15v15 battleground is Battle for the Darkspear Islands, for levels 30 to 60. It has a flag at its center: teams hold 4 capture points and carry that flag to a base they control, 1st to 2,000 points. That is a job for a plate body with a shield. Before launch, the Forever Open duel tournament on 17 and 18 October puts level 30 Horde Warriors on stage, with a prize for the best player of each class.

Prot PvP spends stamina and control. Whirlwind stays on the Fury mega. Blizzard posted the Warrior kit on 30 September. Vanguard, the 16-point talent, lets Charge work in Defensive Stance, which is the flag-room opener. Shield Specialization adds 5 Rage on a block, and Rage from damage taken now ignores Armor and absorbs. Shield Wall no longer shares a cooldown with Recklessness and Retaliation. Victory Rush at 20 heals 10% of maximum health. The 1 October build raised Rage from critical strikes to +100%. Point spends stay provisional while the beta runs.

Level 10 to 20. Stay Prot. A shield in BGs is HP and block. Charge into the flag room. Skip the mid zerg.

Level 30 to 60. Golds in Protection. Intervene (or its Forever rename) is the peel. Do not take Fury dual-wield for flag duty. Recheck the talent calculator after each beta build.

Orc Hardiness keeps you standing through stuns on the carrier. Tauren War Stomp is the AoE stop in the room.

Rank gear plus stamina greens. Rank 10 week 7, Rank 13 week 9.

How Rank 14 gear works (Blizzard, 7 October 2026). Honor buys a blue and an epic PvP set, and each epic upgrade needs an Emboldened Seal with a rank requirement. Rank Points come from battlegrounds and PvP quests with a weekly cap, so the 14 ranks are a weekly climb toward High Warlord or Grand Marshal. Rewards run from a tabard at Rank 1 to a mount at Rank 11 and epic weapons at Rank 14. Since the 1 October beta build Honor prices are about 50% higher and the Honor cap is 25,000.

Week 1. Honor greens with a high-armor shield. Get week-1 gear done.

Weeks 2 to 3. Dungeon stamina pieces between BG sessions. Get the dungeon set done.

Rank weeks. Farm Rank 10 then 13. Darkspear Islands adds 2 reputations, Darkspear Raiders and the Theramore Expeditionary Force, with their own gear and a tabard at Exalted. Get Rank 14 done.

From 9 December. Barrow Deeps / Hyjal Summit stamina drops fill holes rank gear misses.

Prot PvP Ultimate is Engineering + Enchanting: bombs in the flag room, enchants on the shield. Live packages match checkout.

Open a tier to land on Warrior Protection with the PvP ruleset preselected.
