Campfires from the 1st hours of launch

Camping arrives with World of Warcraft: Forever on 4 November 2026 at 3:00 PM PST, and it starts working in your 1st session. Every character can place a Basic
Campfire, and the 1st crafted object unlocks at profession skill 20, which most characters reach before leaving the starting zone.
The advanced objects come later. Their
Blueprint recipes drop from
dungeon bosses, so the best campsites appear once groups are running the higher dungeons. The beta, from 17 September to 21 October with a level cap of 20 and then 30, tests the Basic Campfire and the skill-20 objects 1st.
Light the level 60 campfire before the raids open
A booster levels the character and runs each dungeon once on the way. Full refund before the 1st session.

What a campsite gives you
Your
Cooking Fire becomes the Basic
Campfire, and you can place it almost anywhere in the open world. Placing it creates a campsite: a spot where you and the players around you rest, sell, repair and craft at profession workspaces without walking back to town.
The buffs have a condition. You sit at the fire for a few moments until your character is rested, and then the buffs from the objects at the camp land on you. Walking through a camp does nothing. Blizzard has not published how long the sit takes.
Camping is not a new profession. It hangs off
Cooking and the objects come from the professions you already have.
Boosted Rest is the named buff from the intro quest The Great Outdoors. Type /sit near a Basic Campfire and wait until the buff lands. Sit by the campfire for a few moments until you are rested, and the campsite buffs apply. For the rested XP pool and the Legacy talent Well Rested, see the leveling guide.
Camping objects by profession
Every profession gets 3 objects at different skill levels. The 1st is learned at skill 20 from camping NPCs or trainers. The advanced ones come from
Blueprints. Blizzard has named these so far.
| Profession | Object | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Sharpening Wheel | Attack Power buff | |
| Faction Banner | Spirit buff | |
| Incense Candle | Intellect buff | |
| Workspace for crafting at the camp | ||
| Tanning Rack | Workspace, required for advanced leatherworking recipes | |
| Upgraded | Campfires that hold 5 or 10 objects |
Blizzard has not named the objects of the other professions yet, and it has not published the skill levels of the advanced objects. The 600 new recipes around them, including the crafted food that gives a small XP bonus, are in the professions guide.
1 object each, 1 shared cooldown
3 rules decide what a camp can hold. Each player places 1 object, so you cannot fill a fire with 3 of your own. A Basic
Campfire holds up to 3 objects, and the upgraded fires that Cooks learn hold 5 or 10. All objects share a 1-hour cooldown, the same length as the buffs they give.
The buffs are variants of class buffs and do not stack with them. The Sharpening Wheel is the Attack Power line, the Faction Banner the Spirit line, the Incense Candle the Intellect line. A camp covers the class your group is missing and adds nothing on top of a full group. Blizzard has not published the buff values yet.
Together the rules reward variety. 5 different professions on an upgraded fire beat 5 blacksmiths, because 5 Sharpening Wheels give 1 buff and share 1 cooldown. A 5-player group with 1 Cook can fill a whole fire; a group on a Basic Campfire leaves 2 professions unused.
Why Blizzard built it: sit and talk
Blizzard names 4 design pillars for Forever, and 1 of them is to protect social experiences. Camping is that pillar as a mechanic. You cannot fill a fire alone, you have to sit to benefit, and the objects reward bringing different professions. Blizzard says it out loud: players who sit at a fire for a moment might talk to each other.
The designers call the goal serendipitous interactions. The stranger who beats you to a herb node is the same stranger who can place a Sharpening Wheel at your fire before a
dungeon.
On a realmless game this matters more than it did on a 2019 server. You play inside a large ruleset ecosystem rather than a named realm, so recurring faces have to be made somewhere. A
campfire outside the
Excavation Site in the
Wetlands is where that happens.
Camping on the way to 60, and at 60
While leveling, a camp saves the town trip. You repair, sell and re-buff between
quest hubs, and there is no flying to shorten the walk back. The skill-20 objects and crafted food are the whole kit until the mid levels.
The system opens up at the top. The
Blueprints for the advanced objects drop from
dungeon bosses, and the strongest ones sit behind the level 55 to 60 dungeons,
Blackmaw Hold and Shaper’s Terrace. A 10-object fire outside a
raid door fits a full
Barrow Deeps group, and the raids open on 9 December, 5 weeks after launch. The best campsites in Forever are
level 60 campsites.
A character reaches those campsites after about 150 hours of play.

Blackmaw Hold and Shaper’s Terrace, where the strongest Blueprints drop, fall in the last days of each calendar.
Your profession at 20 on day 1, 300 later
The profession you pick at character creation now has a group consequence from skill 20 onward. Pick the object your regular group is missing. A Blacksmith brings Attack Power, a Tailor Spirit, an Herbalist Intellect, a Leatherworker the Tanning Rack, and a Cook the bigger fire.
A Pro takes 1 profession from 1 to 300 for $58, self-play or piloted, from 4 November 2026, and the materials for it come from gold from $49 per 100. Cancel ahead of session 1 and every dollar comes back.
