What Rockstar and its parent company have said about PC
No Rockstar page mentions a PC version of GTA 6. The game site carries the line Plays Best On PlayStation 5. Rockstar Support, in a page last updated on 18 August 2026, lists editions for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only.
May 2026. Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Rockstar's parent company, explained the order. Rockstar starts on console because a release like this is judged by how well it serves its core players. In his words, if the core players are not served best, a release misses its other buyers too. For a big title, he said, PC can be 45 to 50% of sales. When he joined the company in 2007, PC was about 5% of NBA 2K sales. Asked whether a marketing deal with Sony keeps GTA 6 off PC at launch, he said no and pointed to Rockstar's own history.
September 2026. He told shareholders that PC keeps growing in importance, and he tied platform choices to where there is a meaningful audience. He gave no PC date.

The Xbox streaming report and the 7 October answer
On 6 October 2026 a report said Xbox held exclusive cloud streaming rights to GTA 6. Xbox Cloud Gaming streams many Xbox games to a PC browser, so readers took the report as a way to play GTA 6 on PC on launch day.
Xbox's strategy chief answered on his own account on 7 October 2026. He said Xbox looks forward to launching GTA 6 on 19 November, and he said the game will not stream to PC. His post gives no PC date, and no Rockstar post since then names PC.
Day 1 on PC is off the table.

Rockstar has dated no PC version. These rows repeat past gaps.
A PC announcement can come late in the gap. Rockstar announced RDR2 for PC on 4 October 2019, about 1 month before its PC launch. PC dates have moved too: in January 2015 Rockstar moved GTA 5 on PC to 24 March 2015, and in February it moved the date again to 14 April.
Rockstar gave 2 reasons for the February move: more polish, and GTA Online with its Heists ready on PC launch day. Each PC version came with extras. The GTA 5 PC version ran at 1080p and 60fps with up to 4K resolution, support for 3 monitors and the new Rockstar Editor. RDR2 on PC added new Bounty Hunting missions, Gang Hideouts and weapons.

GTA 6 PC system requirements: what is published
Rockstar has not published GTA 6 PC system requirements. GTA 5's PC specs came in the same January 2015 post that set the 24 March date, 3 months before its PC launch. RDR2's PC specs followed on 9 October 2019, 27 days before its PC launch, on the day PC pre-purchase opened. Rockstar's 2015 post for GTA 5, still live, lists 4GB of RAM and a 1GB graphics card as the minimum.
Until a GTA 6 sheet appears, the closest official numbers are Rockstar's own recent PC releases. Read them as a reference point for your current rig. GTA 5 Enhanced arrived on 4 March 2025 as a free upgrade for PC owners and brought over features until then on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. Rigs below its minimum can keep playing the older GTA 5 Legacy build.

Playing GTA 6 on 19 November
If you play only on PC, the choice is a console on 19 November or a wait for PC. On console, launch week runs in this order.
- Pre-order. Open since 25 June 2026. Editions and prices are in the GTA 6 pre-order guide.
12 November. The digital preload opens at local midnight.- Physical copy. The box holds a download code, so plan the download the same way as a digital copy.
- 19 November. The game unlocks. The GTA 6 release countdown runs the clock.
