Destiny 2 Expansions in Order: All 10 With Release Dates

Destiny 2 has 10 expansions. Curse of Osiris came 1st on December 5, 2017. Renegades closed the list on December 2, 2025. The table also lists the Red War base game and the 30th Anniversary Pack, so the whole timeline sits in 1 table.

PC players got the base game on October 24, 2017. Destiny 2 reached PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on December 8, 2020.

Monument of Triumph (Update 9.7.0) arrived on June 9, 2026 as the final content update. The game stays online. Every raid and dungeon you own still launches from the Raids and Dungeons node.

Play the expansions in release order. The story follows the same sequence as the dates above. The Light and Darkness saga ends with The Final Shape.

4 old campaigns sit in the Destiny Content Vault: Red War, Curse of Osiris, Warmind and Forsaken. So a new player in 2026 starts the playable story with Shadowkeep.

1. Shadowkeep on the Moon. The campaign is free.
2. Beyond Light on Europa, where Stasis arrived. The campaign is free.
3. The Witch Queen in the Throne World.
4. Lightfall in Neomuna, with Strand.
5. The Final Shape in the Pale Heart, with Prismatic.
6. The Edge of Fate on Kepler, where the Fate Saga begins.
7. Renegades, the 10th and final expansion, based at Tharsis Outpost on Mars.

The base game has been free to play since October 1, 2019. The Shadowkeep and Beyond Light campaigns became free with The Final Shape on June 4, 2024.

The vault began with Beyond Light on November 10, 2020. The Forsaken campaign and the Tangled Shore followed on February 22, 2022. Since August 2022, Bungie keeps expansions in the game and vaults only seasonal content.

In September 2026, Bungie said it has begun work to bring vaulted campaigns, destinations and raids back for all players. Dates will follow in later updates. The Destiny 2 Un-Vault page tracks each step.

Destiny 2: The Collection launched on June 9, 2026. It holds 5 expansions and 4 content packs, with 10 dungeons and 7 raids in total.

• Expansions: Renegades and The Edge of Fate, each with 2 Reward Passes, plus The Final Shape, Lightfall and The Witch Queen.
• Packs: 30th Anniversary Pack, Beyond Light Pack, Shadowkeep Pack, Forsaken Pack.
• Raids: Last Wish, Garden of Salvation, Deep Stone Crypt, Vow of the Disciple, Root of Nightmares, Salvation's Edge, The Desert Perpetual.
• Dungeons, Years 2 to 5: Shattered Throne, Pit of Heresy, Grasp of Avarice, Duality, Spire of the Watcher.
• Dungeons, Years 6 to 8: Ghosts of the Deep, Warlord's Ruin, Vesper's Host, Sundered Doctrine, Equilibrium.

Expansion licenses stay on the platform where you bought them. Your Guardian can move between platforms with Cross Save, so buy on the platform you play most.
