How to get the Apex Predator badge
Apex Predator is a legend badge. You earn it when your squad wins a match while you are the
Kill Leader.
- Pick your legend. The badge counts per legend, so it lands on the legend you play in that match.
- Take Kill Leader. Get enough kills to become the Kill Leader of the match.
- Hold it to the end. You still have to be the Kill Leader when the match ends.
- Win the match. A squad win with you as Kill Leader unlocks the badge on that legend.
The rule holds in Season 31, Cipher, which opened on 3 November 2026. A PRO can win it on your account, on the legend you pick.

Apex Predator badge vs the Predator rank
Predator is also the top tier of Ranked. Ranked tiers come with their own badges for the tier you reach in a season.
The legend badge asks for no rank at all. A win as Kill Leader on that legend earns it.
The Ranked climb, the tiers and the Predator cutoff are in the Apex ranks guide.
Double Duty: Kill Leader and Champion in 1 win
Double Duty is the harder Kill Leader badge. You need a win where you were both the Kill Leader and the Champion.
Both badges count per legend. Each legend has its own
Apex Predator badge and its own Double Duty to earn.

Next badges: 20 kills and 4K damage
Kill Leader games often come with big kill and damage numbers. These badges sit next in line on the same legend.
