Apex Legends Tier List (August 2026): Best Legends by Role — Season 30 Marked

Updated 2026-08-07 · 9 min read · by LFCarry PRO team

Season 30 Marked is live (launched August 4, 2026). August meta by role — Assault, Skirmisher, Recon, Controller, Support — S–C from live Master/Predator pick data plus the official Marked notes. Biggest move: Bloodhound’s rework made him the most-picked Legend in the game — and the ladder has not agreed yet. Chasing the badges those picks unlock? The 20-kill and 4K-damage double runs from $19 with a PRO on an S-tier legend.

Apex Legends Tier List — Season 30 Marked (August 2026)

Primary high-elo read = Apex Legends Status Master/Predator pick rate (34M-player database, scraped August 7, 2026 — three days into the season). Patch truth = the official Marked notes (Aug 3). Where the all-ranks slice disagrees sharply with high elo we say so in the row. Currency sibling: Apex Coins guide.

TierLegendRoleWhy
S Axle Assault#1 at Master/Predator by 2.2× (25.2%, ▼7.6% w/w) even after Marked cut his slide boost from 5s to 3s and made the Ult damage him and displace his own squad — Nitro Gate still sets the pace
S Pathfinder SkirmisherUntouched in Marked and inherits the top slot: 11.4% Master/Pred (#2, ▲1.9%). Double tactical charges and the flat 20s cooldown carry straight over from the Season 29 midseason
S Mad Maggie AssaultPromoted from A — now #3 at Master/Pred (9.7%, ▲3.2%), above Valkyrie. The Hemlok and SMG damage cuts reward her drill-and-push pattern over poking
S Conduit SupportThe default support and the only one rising at the top (3.1% Master/Pred, ▲9.1%). Pick share understates her — comps still open with her shields
A Valkyrie SkirmisherDemoted from S. Marked cut tactical base damage 25→15, reverted the missile dive angle, took 15% off Ult height and trimmed both upgrades. Still 6.5% at Master/Pred (▼1.1%) because the rotation is unmatched — but all-ranks pick fell 56% in a week
A Seer ReconThe only Recon with real share: 5.3% Master/Pred and ▲16.5% w/w — rising despite the turn-slow trim and Home Base moving to level 3
A Bangalore · Fuse AssaultSmoke and Knuckle Cluster pressure, both flat through the patch — Bangalore 5.0% Master/Pred, Fuse 2.2%
A Alter · Octane · Revenant · Wraith · Horizon SkirmisherOctane drops out of S — 3.8% Master/Pred and ▼8.5%, falling on both slices. Alter 4.2%, Revenant 3.6%, Wraith 2.9% (▲1.9%), Horizon 2.1%
A Loba · Lifeline SupportLoba is the buff story outside Bloodhound: tactical equips in 0.4s (was 0.6), +15% range, Ult cooldown 150→120s. ▲96% at Master/Pred and #2 all-ranks at 9.2%. Lifeline ▲15.9%
A Gibraltar · Caustic ControllerGibraltar ▲11.4% to 2.1% — the bubble gains value as close-range damage drops across the board. Caustic 0.9%, playable when the lobby slows down
B Bloodhound ReconThe rework. New Ult Allfather’s Cloak (8s dome, cloak lasts 12s after you leave, +20% move speed and threat vision), white ravens out to 400m, a 3s full-body scan plus four snapshots. Bloodhound is now the most-picked Legend in the game all-ranks at 9.9% (▲556% w/w) — and still 0.5% at Master/Pred, 24th of 28. The kit is far stronger; high elo has not validated it in three days. On watch for A
B Sparrow · Vantage ReconRecon is a one-Legend role right now — Sparrow 1.7% (▲9.4%) and Vantage 1.9% (▲8.8%) sit a full band under Seer
B Ash · Ballistic AssaultAsh ▲18.2% off a small base (1.1%); Ballistic 0.3% — both need a comp built around them
B Wattson · Rampart ControllerRampart got the season’s second-biggest buff — wall health 400/600/800→600/700/800, deploy 0.5s faster, Sheila move speed 70→104 baseline — and her all-ranks pick doubled (▲99%). Master/Pred did not move: 0.2%, ▼3.1%. Wattson 1.0%
B Mirage · Newcastle SupportNewcastle ▼23.9% to 0.5%; Mirage flat at 1.0% — revive utility that experienced lobbies read
C Crypto Recon0.6% Master/Pred and needs coordination the ranked ladder rarely gives you
C Catalyst Controller0.3% Master/Pred, the lowest share on the board — a specific-comp pick, not a climb default

Note: these are pick rates, not win rates. Three days into a season, what top players choose is the best available signal — but it lags a rework by design, which is exactly why Bloodhound sits at B here and #1 everywhere else. Where the two slices diverge (Bloodhound, Loba, Rampart) the gap is the story, so both numbers are in the row.

Season 30 Marked Meta Snapshot (August 2026)

What is live: Season 30 Marked, launched August 4, 2026 (patch notes Aug 3). This is a rework season, not a new-Legend season — the roster is unchanged at 28.

What Marked changed for this table:

 • Bloodhound reworked. Brand-new Ult, Allfather’s Cloak: throw a dome that cloaks anyone inside it for 8s, cloak persists 12s after leaving, and cloaked players get +20% move speed and threat vision. It breaks on damage, firing or most abilities — but not on Bloodhound’s own abilities, and the level-3 upgrade downgrades shooting from ‘breaks’ to ‘interrupts’. Passive and tactical were rebuilt around it: white ravens now fly 400m (was 190m base), you can trigger them remotely, and the tactical is a 3s full-body scan followed by four snapshot scans.
 • Buffed: Loba (tactical equip 0.6→0.4s, +15% range, −30% travel time, Ult cooldown 150→120s) and Rampart (wall health 400/600/800→600/700/800, deploy 0.5s faster, Sheila base move speed 70→104, passive earns locked hop-up progress 50% faster).
 • Nerfed: Valkyrie (tactical base damage 25→15, missile dive angle reverted, Ult height −15%, Eye In The Sky through-wall scan 250→100m, Supersonic 50%→40%), Axle (slide boost 5s→3s, Ult now damages Axle and stuns/displaces allies), Seer (less turn slow; Home Base moved to level 3).
 • Weapons: close-range damage came down across the board — R-99 13→12, Alternator 19→18 with mag cuts, RE-45 17→16, Hemlok 22→21 with Breach Charge cooldown 25→30s. G7 Scout returns to floor loot nerfed (37→33, no Double Tap, no sniper optics) and the 30-30 Repeater moves into the care package at 51 damage with Shattercaps.
 • Energy ammo rework: energy ammo is gone as a lootable item. Havoc, Nemesis, Devotion, L-STAR, Volt, Triple Take and RE-45 now carry a regenerating stockpile (one magazine per 18s, paused while firing or reloading). Strong in short fights, weak in long ones.
 • Corrupted Attachments: a new high-tier rarity, one per weapon, each with a real downside — Overflowing Magazine, Headseeker Barrel, Tactical Laser, Agile Standard Stock, Rapid Sniper Stock.
 • World’s Edge reworked: Sorting Factory and the Fragment construction stacks are back, Tree Settlement replaces The Tree, War Camp replaces Survey Camp, Big Maude merged into Landslide.

The pattern to read: the two data slices disagree, and that disagreement is the season so far. All-ranks, Bloodhound (9.9%) and Loba (9.2%) are the two most-picked Legends in the game and both are up more than 550% week over week. At Master/Predator they are 0.5% and 1.9%. That is novelty, not a solved meta — the top of the ladder is still running Axle, Pathfinder and Mad Maggie while it works the rework out. Expect this table to move once the first ranked ladder closes.

Ranked in Marked: ladders are now 5 days long. Ladder 1 runs Aug 11–16, then Aug 18–23, Aug 25–30, Sep 1–6 and Sep 8–13.

Best Apex Legends for Beginners (Season 30)

Verdict: take one Legend per role from the S/A band that forgives mechanical mistakes, and ignore the Bloodhound hype until you can win gunfights.

 • Assault: Bangalore. Smoke teaches you resets, and she is unchanged in Marked so nothing you learn this week goes stale.
 • Skirmisher: Octane. The pad and stim are readable; move to Pathfinder once rotations start deciding your games.
 • Support: Conduit — point-and-click shields, still the S-tier default. Loba is genuinely easier to use after the Marked buffs if you prefer looting your team into shape.
 • Recon: Bloodhound is now a reasonable beginner pick, which was not true last season. The cloak is forgiving and the scan does the map-reading for you. Just do not expect the ladder-winning results the all-ranks pick rate implies.
 • Controller: Gibraltar only after you can hold an angle — walls do not carry a missed clip.

How We Rank (Methodology)

This page is a consensus ranked list, not a vibes chart.

 • Primary: Apex Legends Status pick rate, Master/Predator slice, scraped August 7, 2026 against a 34M-player database. Week-over-week deltas straddle the Aug 4 patch, so they measure the patch.
 • Adoption cross-check: the all-ranks slice from the same source, used only where it diverges from high elo by more than a band.
 • Patch truth: the official EA Marked patch notes, August 3, 2026. Every buff and nerf quoted in the table is from that document, not from a summary of it.
 • What we do not do: we do not carry Season 29 editorial tier lists into Season 30, and we do not rank a reworked Legend on how many people are trying it.

The honest caveat for this edition: the season is three days old. Pick rate at the top of the ladder is a lagging measure of a rework, and win-rate samples this early are not worth quoting. Where we place a Legend against the direction of the patch — Bloodhound at B, Rampart at B — the row says exactly which number drove it, so you can disagree with the call and still use the data.

FAQ

As of August 7, 2026, three days into Season 30 Marked, Axle is still the strongest overall pick: 25.2% pick rate at Master/Predator, more than double the next Legend, even after Marked cut his slide boost and made his Ult damage his own squad. Pathfinder (11.4%) and Mad Maggie (9.7%) are second and third. Bloodhound is the most-picked Legend in the game across all ranks after the rework, but that has not reached high elo yet.
