Season 29 Meta Snapshot — Split 2 (July 2026)
What is live: Season 29 Overclocked Split 2 midseason patch (official notes Jun 22 / live Jun 23). New Legend Axle still owns the pace; Pathfinder and Seer are the live Pred climbers; Deathbox Respawns keep supports valuable; Trident removal on Olympus/Storm Point earlier in the season keeps mobility Legends ahead of turtles.
What the midseason patch changed for the table:
- Nerfed: Axle (gates/HP/Super Slider), Conduit (regen earlier + CD 30s), Mad Maggie (Riot Drill CD + sprint-only ball), Valkyrie (faster skydive-land removed).
- Buffed: Pathfinder (double tact, flat CD, faster zipline), Ballistic (Whistler rework), Seer (passive/tact/ult scan).
- Loot: new Executioner hop-up on PK/Mastiff; Hemlok mag cuts; Dual Shell off Mastiff.
Comp pattern: movement + sustain + pressure — e.g. Axle + Conduit + Valkyrie (games.gg balanced), or Axle + Pathfinder + Seer for Pred-meta info + mobility.
Best Apex Legends for Beginners (Season 29)
Verdict: pick one Legend per role from the S/A band that forgives mechanics mistakes.
- Assault: start Bangalore (smokes teach resets) before one-tricking Axle’s movement ceiling.
- Skirmisher: Octane — pad + stim are readable; graduate to Pathfinder/Valkyrie when rotations matter.
- Support: Conduit first (point + click shields); Lifeline if you prefer revive pressure.
- / Recon / Controller: Sparrow or Gibraltar only after you can win gunfights — info/walls don’t carry a missed clip.
