Shark Card Prices Today — Snapshot
Base list prices as of July 11, 2026, cross-checked on the Rockstar Store (PC) and GTA Wiki. Xbox Great White listing matches the same GTA$1,500,000 / $19.99 mid-tier. These are base amounts — limited-time % bonuses are separate (see Promo section).
| Shark Card | USD price | Base GTA$ | GTA$ per $1 | Value |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $99.99 | 10,000,000 | 100,010 | BEST VALUE | |
| $49.99 | 4,250,000 | 85,017 | GOOD | |
| $19.99 | 1,500,000 | 75,038 | OK | |
| $9.99 | 600,000 | 60,060 | OK | |
| $4.99 | 250,000 | 50,100 | WORST |
Red Shark (100,000 / $2.99) was delisted December 6, 2022 when Rockstar raised all live card values by ~20%. Ignore reseller pages still quoting old Great White 1.25M / Bull 500k figures — those are pre-update leftovers.
Best Value: GTA$ Per Dollar
Sort the same cards by efficiency. There is no mid-tier trap: every step up the ladder buys more GTA$ per real dollar.
| Rank | Card | You pay | You get | GTA$ / $1 | vs Tiger |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| #1 | $99.99 | 10,000,000 | 100,010 | ~2.0× | |
| #2 | $49.99 | 4,250,000 | 85,017 | ~1.7× | |
| #3 | $19.99 | 1,500,000 | 75,038 | ~1.5× | |
| #4 | $9.99 | 600,000 | 60,060 | ~1.2× | |
| #5 | $4.99 | 250,000 | 50,100 | baseline |
Verdict: if you are buying official Shark Cards at all, buy the BEST VALUE
Megalodon (or Whale if you refuse the $100 sticker). Tiger is for a tiny top-up only — you pay a steep efficiency tax. Prefer verified delivery over microtransactions? See GTA Online money.
What Are Shark Cards?
Shark Cash Cards are Rockstar's official real-money → GTA$ packs for Grand Theft Auto Online. Cash deposits to your Maze Bank balance after purchase (Rockstar notes it can take a short time to appear). They are optional — the whole Online economy is designed so you can grind instead.
| Fact | Detail |
|---|---|
| Platforms | PS / Xbox / PC storefronts + Rockstar Store (PC). Same five live tiers; mid-tier Xbox Great White matches PC amounts. |
| Where they land | Character bank account (Maze Bank) — not a separate wallet item you trade. |
| Base vs promo | Table above = everyday base. Rockstar sometimes runs claimable % bonuses on Great White / Whale / Megalodon (see Promo). |
| Discontinued | Red Shark removed Dec 2022 when values rose ~20% across the board. |

GTA+ vs Buying Shark Cards
GTA+ is Rockstar's optional membership for GTA Online on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC Enhanced.
| Benefit | Amount | Source note |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly price | $7.99 / month | Rockstar Store + Xbox Series listing (raised from $5.99 in Apr 2024 per wiki) |
| Monthly GTA$ grant | 500,000 per billing cycle | Rockstar GTA+ page |
| Member Shark Cards | +15% GTA$ on member-only cards | Rockstar GTA+ + Support FAQ (stacks with some limited % offers) |
| Other | Vinewood Club, rotating vehicles/discounts, games library | Not priced into the GTA$/$1 table |
GTA+ card amounts at +15%: Tiger 287,500 · Bull 690,000 · Great White 1,725,000 · Whale 4,887,500 · Megalodon 11,500,000 (~115,012 GTA$/$1 on Mega). The rank order does not change — Mega stays best.
Math check: $7.99 for 500k alone is only ~62.6k GTA$/$1 (Tiger-tier efficiency) — you buy GTA+ for the bundle of perks, not because the monthly grant beats a Megalodon.
Grind Hours vs Buying a Card
Official pages never publish “$/hour.” Community consensus still centers on Cayo Perico. Treat this band as community-sourced, not Rockstar fact.
| Source type | Rough rate | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Guides (e.g. Cayo payout writeups) | ~$800k–$900k / hour | Experienced solo hard-mode with setups included |
| r/gtaonline (2026 threads) | Up to ~$1.4–1.5M / hour | Optimistic clean Cayo loops; skill- and bonus-week dependent |
| Editorial band | ~$0.8–1.5M GTA$ / hour | Use for “hours of grinding ≈ card” estimates |
| Card | GTA$ | Hours @ $800k/hr | @ $1.0M/hr | @ $1.5M/hr |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 250k | ~0.3 | 0.25 | ~0.2 | |
| 600k | ~0.8 | 0.6 | ~0.4 | |
| 1.5M | ~1.9 | 1.5 | 1.0 | |
| 4.25M | ~5.3 | 4.25 | ~2.8 | |
| 10M | ~12.5 | 10 | ~6.7 |
If you already enjoy Cayo, a Tiger/Bull is rarely “worth” interrupting the loop. If you hate grinding and need a property/vehicle spike, Mega replaces roughly a full day of focused farming. Prefer someone else to deliver the cash safely? Browse the GTA 5 hub.
Promo Bonuses — Base vs Limited Offers
Base amounts in the snapshot table are what you get without a claimable offer. Rockstar periodically runs Shark Card % bonuses (often Great White / Whale / Megalodon only).
| Layer | What it does | Status as of Jul 11, 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Base card | Listed GTA$ on Rockstar / console stores | LIVE — use the snapshot table |
| GTA+ 15% | Member-only Shark Cards pay +15% GTA$ | LIVE (per Rockstar GTA+) |
| Limited % offer | 40% bonus GTA$ on Great White / Whale / Megalodon — claim via your Rockstar account by Jul 22, buy by Aug 5, 2026 (max 5 per card type) | LIVE NOW — Rockstar Newswire, Jun 18, 2026 |
With the live 40% claim, a Megalodon pays 14,000,000 GTA$ for $99.99 — about 140,014 GTA$/$1; GTA+ members stack the +15% member bonus on top (per Rockstar the 40% applies to the modified GTA+ values — ~161,016 GTA$/$1). Offers rotate — re-check rockstargames.com/gta-online before buying.
