MW4 Wager Match Event: what it is and when it starts
The Wager Match Event is a Season 1 event of Modern Warfare 4. It spans Multiplayer, DMZ and Warzone.
Trophies are its currency. The more you collect, the more rewards you earn, several weapon attachments among them.
Activision announced the event on 28 October for the start of Season 1. The Season 1 launch patch notes of 5 November list it as coming soon.
No start date had been announced by 7 November.
Season 1 itself has been live since 6 November at midnight ET, which is 05:00 UTC.
Here is how the event works:
- Collect Trophies. They are the currency of the event.
- Wager them in
Gauntlet 1v1. This Multiplayer playlist is a 1v1 Gunfight. - Win and stay. The winner of each fight stays in to face the next opponent.
- Play the DMZ and Warzone challenges. They are the route into the event in those modes.
- Chase the Mastery Rewards. A top 3 finish adds extra rewards.
Before your 1st Gauntlet fight, a PRO levels your guns on your account, so the 2 rifles that take the new Apex attachments are ready.
Guns and rank ready for the Wager Match
A PRO levels the guns you pick, the Hyeon Burst and Kastov 762 included, or your Soldier Rank, on your account.
Gauntlet 1v1: how wagering Trophies works
Gauntlet 1v1 is a variant of Gunfight for 2 players. You wager your Trophies before the fight.
Eliminate your opponent to win. The winner stays in, and the next player rotates in to face them.
Gauntlet is the Multiplayer side of the event. DMZ and Warzone players earn their part through the event challenges of those modes.
The Gunfight maps and every launch map are in our MW4 multiplayer maps guide.
