Our Division 2 exotic tier list (fetched Aug 25): Grindout’s exotic guide updated August 18, 2026 and Skycoach’s weapon list updated May 8, 2026 both put St. Elmo’s in S as the overall default exotic gun for general PvE. Year 8 Season 2 Into the Dark went live 15 June 2026 (Ubisoft). Chameleon is the close-range argument (Skycoach S, Grindout A) — this page follows August: Chameleon is a style pick, St. Elmo’s is the first farm. Talent name (“Actum Est” / shock magazine) reprints move with Year patches — treat the in-game tooltip as SoT. Official live talent numbers we opened tonight = missing-evidence.
Chase vs farm
Farm if you already run Countdown: set assault rifle as targeted loot (Countdown / Summit / open-world). That is how our exotic list and Dving’s how-to both get the gun without a raid lockout. Official drop percent = missing-evidence — do not reprint a “2%” from a shop page.
Chase / pay if you want the gun tonight and you are not going to sit Countdown. Live checkout /division-2/st-elmos-engine is type=basic $35 (opened Aug 30, 2026). That is a guaranteed AR, not a random Exotic cache from Danny Weaver. Ouroboros is a different slot (SMG, Paradise Lost, $75 basic) — do not substitute it.
