Destiny 2 Vex Mythoclast Catalyst: 5 Plates + 700 Kills

The Vex Mythoclast Catalyst sits inside Vault of Glass. The gun is a random Atheon drop. The catalyst is a puzzle on the same raid.

You need Vex Mythoclast equipped. A teammate stands on each plate. Oracles spawn near that plate. Shoot them in the order they appeared.

The 5 plates sit on 1 clear. Fail a plate and you restart that plate. Finish all 5 in the same run, then walk to the broken portal before Gatekeeper.

Plate 1 is in the opening encounter. Sparrow to the far right cave. 3 oracles.

Plate 2 sits in front of the secret chest before Templar. 4 oracles.

Plate 3 is after Templar, before Gorgon's Maze. 5 oracles.

Plate 4 is in the jump after Gorgon's Maze, down and right from the wall you entered. 6 oracles.

Plate 5 is on the island left of the broken portal, behind a pillar. 4 waves of oracles.

Oracles sit far enough apart that a solo player cannot finish a plate. Bring a fireteam.

Open Collections on Vex Mythoclast before you run the raid. If Calculated Balance is already on the weapon, the puzzle is done and only the 700-kill unlock remains.

Calculated Balance is the catalyst perk. While in full auto mode, final blows or rapid hits grant bonus damage, accuracy, and stability for a short duration.

The bonus applies to auto-rifle mode. Linear fusion shots do not carry it.

Vex Mythoclast already has 2 traits without the catalyst. Timeless Mythoclast makes the default mode full auto. Temporal Unlimiter builds Overcharge, then swaps you into a charged linear shot.

Calculated Balance wants the full-auto mode. Kill or land a rapid string. The next burst hits harder and tracks tighter.

The in-game card names the condition. It does not print a damage percent on the weapon we opened. Community notes often quote 20% for 5 seconds. That number stays off this page until Bungie prints it.

You insert the catalyst at the gunsmith once you own it. Then the 700-kill objective appears on Vex Mythoclast.

Once the catalyst is inserted, the objective is 700 weapon kills with Vex Mythoclast. Playlist combatants count. Destination combatants count. Raid combatants count.

Shuro Chi in Last Wish is the fast room if you already have that wish wall. A Vault of Glass clear also feeds the tracker while you wait for the next featured week.

A kill is a kill on the objective. Precision shots help add-clear. The unlock number stays 700.

Check the weapon inspect after a run. The tracker sits on Vex Mythoclast. Collections also shows whether Calculated Balance is complete.

The live $15 checkout is the catalyst job: 5 plates plus 700 kills. If you already hold the item and only the 700 remain, the $12 custom farming row is the closer fit.

Vex Mythoclast itself drops from Atheon on a Vault of Glass clear. A checkpoint kill does not count for the exotic.

Bungie has not published the drop rate. Triumphs on that raid raise the chance. Flawless, Master, the 5 encounter challenges, and the 5 complications each add a step.

The live basic gun row is $30. The Vault of Glass mega farms Atheon across 3 characters until the exotic lands.

The catalyst is a separate item. Owning Vex Mythoclast does not grant Calculated Balance. Missing the gun blocks the 700-kill unlock, because the kills have to land on that weapon.
