2026: Loose Change is a rework (Grindout, Jul 7, 2026)
Grindout — New Exotic Catalysts, updated Jul 7, 2026 (scraped Aug 30, 2026): Sunshot sits in the reworked nine, perk name Loose Change. It is not on the 18-ritual / 8-raid “new MOT cards.” If you finished the catalyst years ago, Grindout’s rule on that same page is the upgrade applies when you log in. A new drop table for people who never had it is not a new raid final — treat Collections → Patterns & Catalysts as the source line on your character.
Exact Loose Change perk text on a Bungie Help page tonight = missing-evidence. We print the name Grindout published, not a sentence we did not open.
2024 path still circulating: ritual + “Sun Blast”
Blueberries — Sunshot + Catalyst, published Feb 26, 2024, modified Mar 28, 2024 (scraped Aug 30, 2026): catalyst “can drop at the end of any core ritual activity” (Crucible, Gambit, Vanguard Ops); Comp matches had an increased rate as of Update 7.3.5. The perk name on that page is Sun Blast — “Targets killed with Sunshot explode in Solar energy.” That is the exotic’s identity, the thing the gun already does. We do not treat Sun Blast as the 2026 catalyst perk. Grindout’s Loose Change and Blueberries’ Sun Blast are not averaged.
