Destiny 2 Ace of Spades Catalyst: Funeral Pyre Path

The Ace of Spades catalyst is a world drop from ritual playlists. Kills or completions in Strikes and Nightfalls can award it.

The Ace of Spades Catalyst is that item. The playlist does the work. You do not need a secret chest or a raid encounter for this drop.

Nightfalls and Strikes both count. A higher-difficulty Nightfall does not change the stated drop rule. It can still be the faster room if you already farm Nightfalls for other catalysts.

Xûr can put the Ace of Spades catalyst in Strange Gear Offers. Check that inventory on the weeks he is in the system. A Xûr sale skips the playlist grind for the item itself.

Open Collections and look at Ace of Spades before you farm. If Funeral Pyre is already on the weapon, the drop is done and only the 500-kill unlock remains.

Funeral Pyre is the catalyst perk. It makes Firefly deal more damage while Memento Mori is active.

Ace of Spades already has 2 traits without the catalyst. Memento Mori loads bonus damage after a reload from reserves. Firefly detonates combatants on a precision kill.

Funeral Pyre ties those 2 traits together. Proc Memento Mori. Land the precision kill. The Firefly explosion hits harder for that window.

The in-game text names the condition. It does not print a damage percent on the weapon card we opened. Community tests often quote +50% on the explosion. That number stays off this page until Bungie prints it.

The perk is PvE-facing. The explosion wants a combatant to detonate. The gun's base traits still work in the Crucible. Funeral Pyre is the reason people farm the catalyst for strikes and raids.

You insert the catalyst at the gunsmith once you own it. Then the 500-kill objective appears on Ace of Spades.

Ace of Spades itself is a kiosk gun. Buy it at the Monument to Lost Lights in the Tower.

The cost is 1 Exotic Cipher, 125,000 Glimmer, and 1 Ascendant Shard. The Forsaken Pack must be on the account.

There is no story quest that awards a fresh Ace of Spades in 2026. If the weapon is missing from Collections, the Monument is the path.

Update 9.7.0 kept the Monument of Triumph / Monument to Lost Lights flow in the Tower. Ace of Spades sits on the Forsaken page of that kiosk.

The catalyst is a separate item. Owning Ace of Spades does not grant Funeral Pyre. Missing Ace of Spades blocks the 500-kill unlock, because the kills have to land on that weapon.

If you need the gun and the catalyst, say so in chat. The $40 row covers the catalyst. The gun materials are a Tower walk unless you want those farmed too.

Once the catalyst is inserted, the objective is 500 weapon kills with Ace of Spades. Playlist combatants count. Destination combatants count.

Strikes and Nightfalls remain the efficient rooms. You are already in the drop playlist, and the same enemies feed the 500.

A kill is a kill on the objective tracker. Precision kills help Firefly and add to the same kill total.

Check the weapon inspect after a run. The tracker sits on Ace of Spades. Collections also shows whether Funeral Pyre is complete.

The live $40 checkout is the catalyst job: drop plus unlock. If you already hold the item and only the 500 remain, the $12 custom farming row is the closer fit.
