Where Ula'tek is in the Venomous Abyss
The Venomous Abyss lies in the Vaults of Atal'Utek under the Coiled Isle. Ula'tek waits behind The Coiled Altar, the 7th boss. In Raid Finder the 2 of them make up wing 4, The Tomb of Ula'tek.
The
raid has been open on Normal, Heroic and Mythic since 18 August 2026, and every Raid Finder wing has been open since 8 September. The boss order and the loot of the other 7 bosses are in our Venomous Abyss raid guide.
Phase 1: Fury of the Serpent Mother
Mother's Wrath knocks the tank back and bites with
Stone Venom. Swap tanks so 1 tank never takes 2 in a row.- Keep Ula'tek and her tail tanked at all times. With nobody in melee, the whole
raid takes the hit.
Caustic Waves cross the platform. They hit hard and hatch every egg they touch, so carry eggs away from them.
Spectral Coils deal raid damage that shrinks with each player inside. Each group soaks its own coil.- Mephitic Thrash sweeps a wide zone around the tail. Everyone leaves it, tank included.
- Call of the Serpent drops new eggs from the ceiling. Dodge the impact, then collect them.
An egg you hatch on purpose gives a weak Blightscale Rawling. An egg hit by venom gives a Blightscale Viper, which poisons the raid.
Rage of the Shackled ends the phase: use Bloodlust, burn the Heart and dodge the Falling Debris.
Phase 2: Children of the Doomscale
Ula'tek submerges and each group crosses to its own side. Each side has a Doomscale Warden.
- Interrupt every
Malice cast from the Doomscale Warden. - Kill the Warden. While it lives, Warden's Protection keeps the eggs out of reach.
- Carry the small eggs into the
Doomscale Cauldron, and the large Doomscale Egg last. - Kill each Weakened Doomscale the cauldron releases and interrupt its
Anguished Cry. - Regroup in the middle. Ula'tek returns with the 2nd
Rage of the Shackled.
Intermission: The Shattering
Spectral tails rise around the room and 6
Spectral Coils land in a row. Group 1 soaks coils 1, 3 and 5, and group 2 soaks coils 2, 4 and 6. Pick up eggs while you move.
The platform then breaks into 4 pieces and knocks everyone up. Land at the side and stay out of the middle.
Phase 3: Ula'tek's Ascension
Phase 3 is a fight across the broken platforms. The
raid splits into 3 soak groups: melee, healers and ranged.
Serpent's Bite hits 1 melee, 1 healer and 1 ranged at once. Each group soaks its own circle in full.- A bite nobody soaks turns its target into a
Calcified Corpse, which deals heavy damage to the raid.
Volatile Purge follows the soak. Spread before it bursts.
Circling Prey dooms the platform she stands on. Leave it before it breaks.- Blightscale Shriekers spawn on the broken pieces. Kill them fast and interrupt
Vicious Echoes.
The 2nd platform break is the hardest moment of the fight. Fury Unleashed is the hard enrage, so the last
Rage of the Shackled window has to finish her.
What changes on Heroic
Soul Constrictor marks the players who soak a Spectral Coil, and they cannot soak the next one. The 2 groups take the coils in turns.
Grasping Fangs tether players in phase 2. Each break sends damage through the
raid, so break 1 or 2 at a time.- Picking up the large Doomscale Egg starts
Mass Gestation on every egg left on that side. Collect the small eggs before it. - Blightscale Vipers gain new casts, among them Petrifying Sting, which turns nearby players to stone.
Tank, healer and DPS jobs on Ula'tek
- Tanks keep Ula'tek and the tail in melee and swap on
Mother's Wrath. - Healers carry
Necrotic Vapors, the steady
raid damage of the whole fight. Save raid cooldowns for the coils and the add phases. - DPS protect the eggs in phase 1 and kill the Warden in phase 2. In phase 3 the Shriekers die before anything else, and every burn window goes into the Heart.
