Two live clocks. This page is the judgment.
Three pages, three jobs:
- WoW Token price today — gold-per-Token, Shop fiat, Balance both ways. That page rotates. Do not copy its gold column here; it will rot.
- WoW gold price — Token-implied $/100k vs marketplace band. That page rotates. Do not copy its $/100k here.
- This page — which rail for your hours in Midnight Season 2 (live August 18, 2026).
Shop Token fiat on those clocks is the stable side (Battle.net has sold a Token at $20 / €20 for years). The floating side is gold-per-Token. Read it there. The farm loop is the gold guide.
Midnight break-even (mechanics, not a quote)
Write this once with tonight’s numbers from the two clocks. Do not store the product on this page.
- Open the Token page. Read gold per Token for your region (US or EU — never FX-mix).
- Estimate g/hr you will actually run (gather, crafts, world quests). The gold guide is the method list; your number is lower than a goblin video.
- Hours to one Token = (gold per Token) ÷ (your g/hr). If that is more hours than you will play this week, stop farming for the Token.
- Open the gold price page. Read $/100k official vs marketplace. Convert the gold you still need. That is the buy-gold side.
- Shop Token is the right buy when the output you want is game time or Battle.net Balance, not when you want a pile of gold. A Token is a product. Gold is a pile.
Season 2 (Patch 12.1, August 18) raised consumable and Housing sinks. That moves the gold clock, not this rule. If you only need flasks for a raid night, you usually want a small gold top-up, not a Token. If you want 30 days of game time, you want a Shop Token — buying gold and listing a Token is a different, slower product (read the Token page for listing wait and caps).
WoW gold — $6 →Live checkout /wow/gold is type=basic $6 (opened Aug 30). Token gold quotes stay on the Token page.
Which rail tonight
| You want | Buy | Do not |
|---|---|---|
| 30 days / Balance | Shop Token (fiat on the Token page) | Buy gold hoping to list a Token faster than Shop |
| A pile of gold (flasks, crafts, Housing, BoEs) | Gold: farm, or the live /wow/gold pack (type=basic $6, opened Aug 30) | Reprint yesterday’s Token gold as if it were a price list |
| Both game time and gold | Shop Token for time; gold pack or farm for the pile. Two products. | One Token treated as if it fills both |
| Two hours a week, mid-pop | Usually gold pack or a tiny farm. Hours-to-Token fails the break-even in step 3. | A full Token you will not list or redeem |
Emily can run the five steps against tonight’s clocks. This page will not invent a US/EU gold figure to look complete.

As of August 30, 2026. Season clock: Midnight Season 2 / Patch 12.1, August 18, 2026 (same stamp as the gold guide). Live clocks: wow-token-price and wow-gold-price (both 200 on this date; last editorial rotation Aug 25). Checkout /wow/gold type=basic usd=6, opened Aug 30. Farm methods: wow-gold-guide. This page quotes no Token gold number of its own. A third price feed here would rot against those two clocks.
