PvP ships with the game on 4 November

Forever ships on 4 November 2026 at 3:00 PM PST. Blizzard has confirmed that the classic
battlegrounds return and that 1 new map joins them, Darkspear Islands. Blizzard has not announced a separate opening date for the battlegrounds. Plan for launch day.
PvP in Forever is a season, and the calendar is short. Blizzard’s roadmap puts the 1st PvP season refresh in spring 2027, so everything you earn on the honor track in the 1st season is earned between launch and spring. A rank needs a
level 60 character, and 1 to 60 is about 150 hours of play. That is why the leveling calendar sits in the middle of a PvP guide.
Start the honor climb in the 3rd week of November
1 booster from launch day hands you a level 60 character around 18 November, 2 boosters in shifts around 11 November. The rank climb then picks up in the same chat.

Darkspear Islands: 15v15 off Kalimdor
Darkspear Islands is the only new
battleground Blizzard has announced for Forever. Blizzard calls the islands a strategic location in the conflict. Each side has its own story there. The
Horde joins the Darkspear trolls to drive the
Alliance off the islands. The Alliance reports to the Theramore Expeditionary Force for deployment.
What the rule mix means in a match: a team that spreads out and holds its flags wins, and a team that chases kills loses the bases behind it. 15 a side is the
Arathi Basin team size, so a premade of 5 fills a 3rd of the roster and can hold a base on its own.
Blizzard has not published the level bracket, the honor rewards or the number of capture points. This guide is updated the day it does.
PvP ruleset or Normal: pick before you roll
Forever has no realm list. At character creation you choose a ruleset, and that choice is the PvP policy of the character. On the PvP ruleset every trip into contested territory is dangerous. On Normal you fight other players only when you choose to. Roleplaying is the 3rd launch ruleset, and
Hardcore follows after launch.
3 rules shape the choice. You can group for
dungeons and
raids only with players on your ruleset.
Horde and
Alliance stay separate. And players pick a language preference and are matched with others who share it, so the enemy you meet in
Hillsbrad speaks a language you chose. The PvP ruleset also gets faction-balance systems similar to Season of Discovery. Blizzard has not described how they work.
A living character cannot move freely between rulesets. To play on a different ruleset, you create a new character there. Only the dead Hardcore character transfer is confirmed, so pick as if the choice is permanent. Our rank climb is sold on both PvP and Normal.
A
battleground match may include players from Normal, PvP and Roleplaying. Hardcore stays out of that mix.
On the PvP ruleset you create characters for only 1 faction. The other 3 rulesets let you create characters on both sides.
Ranks, appearances and the 2027 seasons
Blizzard has confirmed 2 things about ranks. PvP appearances still need ranks, so the honor ranks exist and gate the PvP looks. And the roadmap carries a PvP season refresh in spring 2027 and another in summer 2027, so the ranks run in seasons. The honor rules, the rank names and the rewards per rank are not published yet.
For a player who wants
Rank 14 that leaves 1 planning rule: the 1st season runs from launch into spring 2027, and the climb has to fit inside it. On Forever’s Rank Points system as published 19 to 21 September, Rank 14 takes 24,750 points, with no decay. The weekly cap opens it in season week 10 at the earliest, and our planning path uses those 10 weeks. Blizzard can still change the rules before launch. The pre-order below re-scopes or refunds before the 1st session if they do.
Why the rank climb starts at 60
The honor ranks are an endgame chase, and every climb we sell runs on a
level 60 character. 1 to 60 is about 150 hours of play. At 3 hours a night that is 7 weeks, and a character that starts on launch day reaches 60 around 24 December, 7 weeks into a season that ends in spring.
That is the gap the leveling closes. A booster on the character from launch day is 60 in 14 days. The honor climb can then start in the 3rd week of November with the whole season ahead of it. 2 boosters in shifts get there in 7 days. Both orders and the rank climb sit in 1 chat, and the same team plans the hand-off from the last level to the 1st
battleground.
Rank 14 pre-order: the honor climb, priced
The Rank 14 page sells a rank, and only a rank. Every buyer starts at Rank 1 on launch day, so a card is the rank you want to hold. 1 Pro plays your character through every weekly bracket until that rank is on the character.
Rank 14 is the Grand Marshal and High Warlord rank of Classic. Blizzard has not published Forever’s final rank names.
| Rank | Classic title | Pre-order | Regular |
|---|---|---|---|
| 14 | Grand Marshal / High Warlord | $1,109 | $1,269 |
| 13 | Field Marshal / Warlord | $949 | $1,059 |
| 12 | Marshal / General | $839 | $889 |
| 11 | Commander / Lieutenant General | $729 | $789 |
| 10 | Lieutenant Commander / Champion | $629 | $679 |
| 8 | Knight-Captain / Legionnaire | $449 | $499 |
| 6 | Knight / Stone Guard | $279 | $279 |
The regular price is what the climb costs after launch, built from the hours a Pro spends on the honor track. The pre-order is $1,109 for
Rank 14 against $1,269 after launch; the saving shrinks down the ladder, and Ranks 2 to 6 cost the same either way. The price is locked when you reserve. We re-check those hours against the beta, and a reserved price never goes up.
3 ways to play it at the same price. Piloted: a Pro plays your character behind a VPN matched to your region, in agreed weekly windows. Self-play: you queue inside our premade. Piloted with a private stream costs $10 more. If Forever ships without a
Rank 14 honor track, or the track is not live within 60 days of launch, you choose a full refund or store credit. Cancel for a full refund any time before the 1st session.
Pre-order a rank →Regular price $1,269 after launch. Piloted or self-play, price locked. Full refund before the 1st session, or if Forever ships without the Rank 14 track.
Coaching before the queue pops
Every class was reworked for Forever, and the
talent trees gained a 16-point milestone. A coaching block puts a Pro beside you for 1, 3, 5 or 10 hours on your class, your talents and
battleground play once Darkspear Islands is up. You stay on your character the whole time. Coaching is $29 an hour on the coaching page, and like every Forever order it is a pre-order with a full refund before the 1st hour.
Write the brief before the 1st hour: class, the spec as you play it, and the 1 outcome you want from those hours. The Pro coaches what is live when your session starts.
