Qiqi / Yae Miko / Beidou / Diona (plus Wriothesley, Cyno, Mizuki) got Witch's Revelation + Stellar-Conduct buffs in Luna VIII — they spike inside Sandrone teams even when global Abyss usage stays mid. Uncertainty: Phase 2 featured art is community-scheduled until the in-game Wish screen flips on Jul 21.

Official HoYoverse update notes for "Sunny Summer Fontinalia" / Version Luna VIII posted July 1, 2026 — new areas in Nod-Krai / Frost Moon, new character Sandrone (Cryo claymore), and the new Stellar-Conduct reaction (Cryo + Electro under listed conditions).

• Phase 1 (ended July 21): Sandrone debut + Citlali rerun ran July 1 → July 21, 2026. Both are off-banner now — the ranks below still hold if you own them, but you cannot pull either this version.
• 7.0 Phase 1 (LIVE NOW, August 12 → September 1): Odette — the version’s only new 5★, a Cryo sword DPS — debuts alongside an Arlecchino rerun, with 4★ rate-up on the new Alyosha, Sucrose and Lynette. Her signature weapon Whitelake Frostfeather reruns beside Crimson Moon’s Semblance. These are the banners you can actually pull on today.
• Luna VIII Phase 2 (CLOSED August 11): Columbina on Somnias a Luna and Raiden Shogun on Reign of Serenity — July 21 → August 11, 2026, 4★ rate-up Ororon, Sethos, Jahoda (Game8 banner schedule). That window has closed — you can no longer pull either, and any advice elsewhere on this page to do so is superseded by the 7.0 block above.
• Spiral Abyss: the 6.7 cycle is well underway — Floor 12 carries Electro-Charged DMG +200% and Lunar-Charged DMG +75% on at least one chamber, with Jadeplume Terrorshroom plus Fungi waves in Chamber 2 (Game8 Spiral Abyss 6.7). That buff is what keeps the Cryo/Electro and Stellar-Conduct cores at the top of the ladder above.
• Next version: 7.0 “Everwinter Without Mercy” launches August 12, 2026 (Americas may see it the evening of August 11). Its Phase 1 runs to September 1 with Odette (new 5★ Cryo sword) and an Arlecchino rerun, 4★ Alyosha — who is also earnable free through the Archon Quest. If you are deciding pulls this week: Columbina if your Hydro off-field slot is the hole, Raiden Shogun if you want the most reliable Electro battery-and-burst core in the game and skipped her before. If neither fits, hold — 7.0 lands August 12, one day after this phase ends, with Odette and an Arlecchino rerun.

Main DPS: start with Mavuika, Skirk, Flins, or new Sandrone if you are building toward Stellar-Conduct. Neuvillette remains the easiest Hydro main to clear on. Also S: Lohen, Nefer, Varka, Zibai.

Sub-DPS: Furina is still the universal pick. Slot Escoffier / Durin / Ineffa for reaction engines; Columbina if you already own her or plan Phase 2.

Support / buffer: Bennett (C6 when safe), Citlali, Xilonen, Kazuha, Nicole.

Healer / sustain: Furina + a dedicated healer is still the high-end pattern; Kokomi / Baizhu / Charlotte cover B-band comfort. Post-buff Qiqi is a real Stellar-Conduct support/heal option if you already have her (Game8 S-support rise) — not a generalist healer outside those teams.

New / low-spend account:

• Lock one S Main DPS you enjoy ( Mavuika or Neuvillette if available later; Sandrone only if you will also build her Cryo/Electro support cast).
• Prioritize supports that never leave meta: Bennett (4★), then Xilonen / Kazuha / Citlali when banners appear.
• Skip vertical constellations until you have two full Abyss teams.
• Use free Witch's Revelation buffs on characters you already own (Qiqi, Beidou, Diona, Yae, Cyno, Wriothesley, Mizuki) before pulling duplicates.

Whale / vertical investment:

• Sandrone signature + her Stellar-Conduct BiS (Yae C1 called out by Game8) is the Luna VIII prestige project.
• Stack Fanfare / RES shred supports (Furina, Xilonen, Citlali) before C6-ing a mid DPS.
• 7.0 Phase 1 is where your pulls go now: Odette is the only new 5★ of the version, and the Arlecchino rerun is the proven on-field Pyro DPS beside her. Columbina remains the Hydro flex worth wanting, but her banner closed on August 11 — wait for a rerun rather than spending into nothing.

Either path: character leveling + talent books are the boring bottleneck — the boost CTA below covers AR / character / talent farms if you would rather spend evenings on Abyss drafts instead of resin math.
