Requires a Death Knight, Paladin or Warrior at level 80 with an active subscription — the questline is plate-only. It also spans multiple weekly Icecrown Citadel lockouts rather than a single raid night. Shadowmourne is the Wrath of the Lich King legendary axe, and it is the longest single quest chain in the expansion. It runs through Icecrown Citadel: 25 Primordial Saronite, fifty Shadowfrost Shards from ICC bosses, and a set of Heroic-mode objectives on top — light of dawn, blood infusion, unholy infusion, frost infusion — each requiring a specific boss killed a specific way while you carry the questline's item.
What that means in practice
- Multiple full Icecrown Citadel lockouts, not one raid night. Shadowfrost Shards are per-boss, per-week drops.
- Heroic-mode kills for the infusion steps, which is a harder raid than the Normal clear.
- Primordial Saronite, which is bought or farmed, and is the part most buyers underestimate.
Why it is priced where it is, and why buyers split payments
Every order on this row has been a multi-week project, and most of them were paid in instalments by arrangement — the record shows two-, three- and four-part payments against a single axe. That is not a payment plan we are advertising; it is what the length of the job has led buyers and managers to agree, and it is available if you ask.
What it has cost
Ten confirmed orders. Complete runs have gone through at $2,200 to $2,450, with instalment lines of $1,245 to $1,247 against the larger ones. One buyer who already had most of the chain done bought only the "Blood Infusion" step onward, at $47 — so if you are partway through, say so, because it changes the number completely.
