Warframe Forma: How to Get It, Build It and Use Umbra and Omni Forma

Hotfix 44.1.4 went live on 27 October 2026. Update 44.1, The Icebind, went live on 7 October 2026.

Forma changes the polarity of 1 mod slot on a rank 30 item. Most Forma arrive as blueprints, and you build them in the Foundry.

1. Open relics with Forma rewards. An Uncommon Forma reward pays 2 blueprints since Update 36.1. The Warframe relics guide lists the tiers and farm spots.
2. Claim the Daily Tribute. Some login days pay a Forma Blueprint.
3. Start a Forma every day. A build takes 23 hours, so 1 new Forma a day keeps your stock growing.
4. Buy the 3-pack when you need many. 3 Forma cost 35 Platinum in the Market, against 20 Platinum for 1.

Every Forma Blueprint needs the same Foundry cost. The resources come from normal Star Chart missions.

Forma also goes into other blueprints. The Exilus Warframe Adapter, most clan Research weapons and Syndicate Rank 2 all ask for Forma.

Polarizing puts a polarity on a mod slot. A mod in a slot of its own polarity uses your mod capacity more efficiently, so the item fits a stronger build.

1. Rank the item to 30. Forma works only on max rank Warframes, weapons and companions.
2. Open the Arsenal. Go to the item's mod loadout and pick Action, then Polarize.
3. Pick the Forma type and the slot. A slot that already has a polarity can be changed too.
4. Confirm. The item drops to rank 0. Its Orokin Catalyst or Orokin Reactor stays.
5. Level it to 30 again. Each further Forma needs a fresh climb to rank 30.

Your Mastery Rank sets how many abilities a Warframe keeps after Forma. At Mastery Rank 30 every ability stays unlocked at rank 3.

Warframe has 4 Forma types in Hotfix 44.1.4. Normal Forma covers most builds, and the other 3 fill special slots.

Normal Forma cannot add an Umbra polarity. Once you replace an Umbra slot, only an Umbra Forma brings it back.

A finished build often carries several Forma. Each Forma needs its own climb from rank 0 to 30.

Kuva and Tenet weapons, the Paracesis and Necramechs can go past rank 30. Each Forma adds 2 ranks, and 5 Forma take them to rank 40.

Those extra ranks pay Mastery points. A Necramech at rank 40 pays 8,000 points in total.
