| Rule | Detail |
|---|---|
| Bracket | 32 teams, single elimination, matched by skill |
| Rounds | 1 match per round. The semifinals and final are best of 3. |
| Another try | A team that loses its 1st match, or arrives late, can enter another bracket for a 2nd try. |
| Match length | 11 minutes at most, kickoffs and replays included |
| Tie | More shots wins. Equal shots go to a coin flip. |
| Entry | Free, with no limit on how many tournaments you join |
A title run takes 5 rounds: 3 single matches, then 2 best of 3 series.
Tournament Rank and parties
Your Tournament Rank starts from your Competitive rank. It then moves with your tournament results through the season.
A party plays at its highest player's rank. 2
Gold II players with a
Diamond I player enter a Diamond tournament.
Only 2v2 and
3v3 Soccar tournaments move your Tournament Rank.
A duo in 3v3 must be within 3 ranks of each other. The full ladder is in Rocket League ranks.
Leaving a tournament early
Leaving before the final results costs you that tournament's rewards. It also locks you out of matchmaking for 15 minutes and out of the next tournament. Repeats lengthen the lockout to 24 hours, then 7 days.
Rocket League tournament rewards: credits, cups and titles
A team that wins at least 1 match earns
Tournament Credits. Each round after that pays more.
Higher Tournament Ranks pay more credits. Everyone on the team gets the same amount.
Your top 3 placements each week add bonus credits. The weekly count resets every Sunday.
Credits buy Cups. Each Cup opens into an item, such as wheels, decals or goal explosions. Tournament items can be painted, certified or both.
Winning a tournament earns a title for its rank, such as
Diamond. The titles change with each season.
Rocket League tournaments in Season 24
Season 24 started on 23 September 2026. Tournaments follow the Competitive season. Each new season brings new tournament items and titles.
RLCS: the official esports circuit
The RLCS runs apart from the in-game brackets. The RLCS 2027 season opens with the Club Championship from 9 to 13 December 2026. Its open qualifiers start in November.
