Where to find the Shark Fin: the Great White One of Whakapanu Island
The
Shark Fin drops from the Great White One of Whakapanu Island, an optional Act 4 boss. It lives in the island's Shark Pit. Sail there from Kingsmarch, the Act 4 town.
The Shark Pit is a sandy arena open to the water. Walk to the water's edge and the shark surfaces to attack. It swims through the sand between bites, so keep moving.
The boss is weak to Lightning, so a Lightning skill shortens the fight. Pick up the
Shark Fin when it dies. The fin is the quest item of the Act 4 side quest Tribal Medicine. If you pick it up before you meet Kaimana, your quest log reads "Find a use for the Shark Fin".
Find a use for the Shark Fin: the Tribal Medicine turn-in
The
Shark Fin goes to Kaimana, the healer of the Tribal Medicine quest. Where she stands depends on how far your Act 4 story is.
- Pick up the
Shark Fin. It drops where the shark boss dies. - During Act 4, sail to Ngakanu. Kaimana is in the village there.
- After Act 4, go to the Karui ship in Kingsmarch. Kaimana stands on board once the story ends.
- Talk to Kaimana and hand over the fin. She offers 2 Lessons.
- Pick
Kaom's Lesson or
Rakiata's Lesson. The pick is final for that character. - Right-click the Lesson in your inventory. That grants its blessing for good.
Shark Fin rewards: Kaom's Lesson or Rakiata's Lesson
Kaimana offers 2 permanent Lessons, and you take 1. The values below are the in-game text since patch 0.5.0, and patch 0.5.5 keeps them.
