Prototype gear is The Division 2's Year 8 endgame chase: weapons and gear pieces that carry an augment slot on top of their normal stats. The augment is the point — Quantum, Echo, Atomize, Amalgam, Trapper, Entropy, Anomaly, Paradox and Synesthesia each change how a build plays — and the roll you want is a specific item with a specific augment and a specific core attribute. That is three variables, which is why this page is a configurator rather than a fixed price.
What you configure
| Option | What it means |
|---|---|
| Item type | Weapon or gear. |
| Rarity | Named weapon, high-end weapon, named gear, gear set or brand set. |
| Augment | Quantum, Echo, Atomize, Amalgam, Trapper, Entropy, Anomaly, Paradox, Synesthesia. |
| Core attribute | Red, blue or yellow. |
| Named item | The specific piece by name — Achilles, Backfire, Cuelebre, Kingbreaker, Lefty and the rest of the named pool. |
| Boost method | Piloted, or self-play with our Pros. |
| Speed | Normal, Express or Super Express. |
One thing worth knowing before you buy
Prototype gear is normalised inside Incursions — augments switch off and Prototype stats drop to their minimum values in Broken Rain, Paradise Lost, Operation Iron Horse and Operation Dark Hours. If your build's damage comes from an augment, it is not there in that content. Prototype is an open-world, Countdown and Descent power spike, not an Incursion one.
What it has cost
Three confirmed orders so far on this row, and a small sample is worth saying out loud rather than dressing up: a full Prototype gear order went through at $487.99 in May 2026, and narrower farming jobs booked here have been $72 and $200. Ask in chat and we will scope your exact item and augment before you commit.
